Oh, it is produced here and the capacity is there for increasing the production, but Chinese steel is cheaper so manufacturers go to them instead of using domestic. _________________ -amom

Well, yes, i recognize that we have the potential for the needed capacity, but the fact is it's become more economically feasible for auto manufacturers to import it. Hell, i'd love to see increased import tariffs on goods coming into this country. i don't get the blanket opposition against sensible economic protectionism that i hear reported in the media. We used to do it. China does it. Lots of other countries do.
