<sarcasm>Yeah, Congress should take their time on health care reform. The minimum of 97 years (since Teddy Roosevelt first proposed health care reform) that it's been debated isn't enough. Better to dither, equivocate, and capitulate to lobbyists, who, after all, always have the interests of us regular working Americans as paramount in their hearts. It's better to wait until reform is absolutely perfect in every aspect and everyone's completely satisfied and in agreement about what's best.

Also, reform right now might be too hard on those private health insurance companies who barely scrape by on the profits they manage to make on top of the taxpayer subsidies they're used to getting. They couldn't possibly be able to survive the competition of an assuredly terrible public option. Too bad about the Americans who continue to lose their insurance, those who die from lack of access to adequate healthcare and those who face home foreclosure & bankruptcy due to medical bills their insurance refuses to cover in the meantime.</sarcasm>

The people in the Towers weren't given that option. People don't have to join the military. These people are unique Cy, they get it . They know what they are being asked to do. A different breed. If they were drafted I might go along with your argument, but they aren't. Heathcare polls are not that far separated as you might think.

Most don't think the gov. does a good job on healthcare and most are satisfied with their insurance. So going on your theory

There are those lurking behind closed doors waiting to see if they can change this for the worse Dazes, we who are on or soon will be on Medicare need to watch this closely.

Personally, I think Obama wants a Health care program, no matter what it is.

bus, we've been sold down t he river by AARP, who backs this theft of MEDICARE......Comrade Leader Obama is pulling an L.B.J......going to steal MEDICARE and use it as a TAX INCREASE......Remember, L.B.J. stole social security, and used it as a TAX INCREASE, in order to carry on the VIETNAM WAR, and create that phony piece of chit legislation called "WAR ON POVERTY"......

HE LOSE BOTH WARS.....AND WE LOST SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE PROCESS....

Amphy Thats one of the dumbest things that has come out of your mouth. This particular bill has not been debated as you like to say for 97 years. To insinuate that is really a talking point gone astray. To use that argument you could conceivably argue that for centuries people thought the world was flat so why dither with details? Man will never go to the moon so why dither with details. Slavery is essential to the Souths future and economy so why dither the details. Deal with the present bill before Congress, the one that the House presented dithered over.Lobbyists be damned including ACORN,SEIU. If you ask me this last post of yours was made by a dithering idiot. Unfit for human consumption at least a thinking human.

Cy, please don't take this wrong, but I'm beginning to think you have a drinking problem.

Is there a right way to take this?

dazes wrote:
The beer appreciation thread in of itself isn't the give away. The equivocation and rationalization of why your always right is a warning sign. Those are some of the sign of a problem. Why are you so sure you are right with this health care thing?

99% of industrialized nations have universal care. 100% of industrialized nations that have universal care like it. Its not like I'm the only one in the world that is sure this is right.

dazes wrote:
People have done there homework, more than some of the politicians who are voting for it. Your theory on the military is confusing to say the least.

Perhaps your personal biases are clouding your judgment. Let me state it more clearly. The public decides what the country does. Once the decision is made, the government, as the entity with the power to enact the decision, is trusted to do so responsibly and keep the public in the loop. Clear?

dazes wrote:
Your third paragraph says you need to trust your government to make this decision. That's opposite of your previous posts. We do elect officials to make informed decisions on our behalf but most have admitted to not being informed. The public, teabaggers as you like to refer to, are simply saying this is too important and please take you time to understand exactly what you are voting for.

Yeah, that's what they're saying. Rolling Eyes

dazes wrote:
There are so many versions out there that I don't think anyone on the right or left can reasonably argue that their opinion is the correct one.

People cannot afford health care. They get sick and either die or lose their entire life's worth and end up in the poor house to stay alive. A public option or single payer would eliminate that problem. Co-ops would only alleviate it and reform with some type of non-profit competition will not address it at all. That is my opinion and until I see a logical, well researched and accurately sourced argument against it, I will continue believing it is the ONLY correct opinion.

Everything that's in the SEVERAL bills being debated in Congress has been debated over and over again for years. Your post is irrational but i doubt i've seen the dumbest thing to come out of your mouth yet. That you seem to think there's only one 'present bill' just goes to show that you don't know what you're talking about at all. Wink And you're obviously not equipped to recognize a 'thinking human being' if one knocked on your door and offered you reliable health insurance at a reasonable cost. If you want to see a clear example of a dithering idiot, check out any post here by Phony or BB - some of yours would qualify, too. Razz

You are a fool, of course there isn't one bill but one bill will be enacted into law! Are you that thick that every minute detail of something needs spelled out to you. What a shame. The comparisons I made are valid. The present condition of health care does need an overhaul, but if you are willingness to accept this mishmash of ideas that have been presented to the American people then more power to you! You run your mouth and hope no one sees the ignorance of your arguments. If anyone tries which I have in the past to have a reasonable conversation with you the topic switches and you become like your screen name implies a creature that can't decide on habitating in the water or on land. The dumbest thing to come out of my mouth has and it was trying to engage you in a conversation. How stupid of me to think that you might be a person whose opinion mattered to me.

CY, I do respect you and your opinion but I don't see what you mean about the public's opinion on the war is ok and the publics opinion on health care is not. I guess it is an area that is clear to me in terms of consistency but not to you. I think the public doesn't have a say in whether we go to war and you think it doesn't have a say in healthcare. We do elect officials to serve us in both categories. Sorry about the drinking thing it was meant as a joke. My husband goes around yelling Justification, you know what that means, when he's watching them debate on TV. I still think the bill in the form presented to the House to vote on had too many ambiguities to it to be reasonably sure it was the best bill that could be put for a vote. That is all I am trying to say.

Please, tell me how you really feel.... Rolling Eyes Laughing Forgive me for not realizing that when you referred to "this particular bill" you weren't talking about the various versions of bills in each chamber of Congress but rather the bill that you anticipate will eventually become law. As for your accusation that i run my mouth despite the ignorance of my arguments, well, glass houses, dazes.

Thank you for being concerned about my safety,I however don't live in a glass house. So I never feel the need to worry when I throw stones. I can't believe how kind you are to me after I foolishly took offense to your Concern about me not being equipped to recognize a thinking human being. You are quite right, I mistakenly took you for one. But C'est la vie! Since you have kindly pointed out my myopia I will see the eye doctor and be fitted for some new rose colored glasses.

Perhaps while you wait for your new specs he can remove that log in your eye, but you'll have to see a proctologist to have that other rod you're carrying around removed. Wink
