I think to some extent there is room for both to coexist. I've just personally gone beyond that point. There are certainly atheists that behave like zealots, though. In my perfect world, everyone would be free to observe whatever personal faith they saw fit, but it would remain personal; it would have no place in defining culture as a whole. _________________ The end is nigh! Thats my favorite quote on the forum. Its so freakin true. Religion is responsible for the breeding of stupidity throughout the Bible belt... and throughout the Middle East especially. _________________

Thats a good one. Very well said. I'm glad you spelled "warrant" correctly. Once BB starts, he doesn't let go. _________________

Waiting, Cy...
You've read the works of Darwin's Rottweiler, and so have I...You are well aware that he uses science to attack personal belief systems, and we are agreed that this practice is unfair and logically inaccurate

Some of you atheists who say you're not trying to convert or persuade others to believe as you do spend an awful lot of time trying to impress with your wit and wisdom. Brant, you thought your old quote was stale...? _________________ It's almost 2010! Why do I not have my own personal robot? |

somehow I get the impression we all here are on different pages...
------
E--- no, did NOT invent that...First read it in a Buster Keaton biography about thirty years ago....thought it was still common knowledge..
PlainJane --- now that I have the atheists all calmed down on YOUR behalf, please don't get them all riled up again...
Brant--- I got an eggo waffle with a perfect resemblance on it of Edward James Olmos....You think I could sell it on E-bay...? _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Jane, do you have a point you're trying to make? If so, go ahead. We'll wait.
Free, if I were you, I'd hold onto it until he dies. It did wonders for the value of my Raul Julia Hot Pocket. _________________

I would like to point out that this forum did not even have a religion board until a Christian requested it, after which time it slowly begin to fill with pro-Christian threads. The first non-Christian thread was one posted by me; the world religions thread. Then some other people started posting in Christian threads with secular viewpoints and questions and it went from there. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Bless you amom...I had forgotten that quote...thank you...Einstein often referred to the Old Man in ways that were hard to decipher, but he was always reverent and respectful...And in the Origin of Species, Darwin gave thanks to a creator who started the ball rolling....
So did Newton and Galileo....As I said, I don't want to convert anyone, but it's kinda hard to argue science against spiritual belief, when you're arguing against the 4 greatest scientific thinkers since science began

And Dawkins STILL won't return my e-mails('') _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |
