Not after Deacon Jones. But yeah, thats the only Deacon I know... and thats what everyone, especially men, are gonna think of.
Its growning on me. Sometimes I really like it and sometimes I'm not sure. Wifey is set on it, and I don't have anything else, so.... Deacon it is.

Where did your wife find that name? It doesn't go at all with my last name, so it's hard to see a baby with it. That's why I used Jones originally to get a feel of a whole name. Then I thought Deacon Jones sounded familiar, so I googled him. You know, kids might call him "Deak", right? Which will then end up "Dick." So, he will be Dick, Jr.

You realize you are cursing him to a life as a lone wolf motorcycle riding gunman with a heart of gold who will lead the survivors against the oncoming zombie hordes? Those guys are always named something religious like Deacon.
My wife is all about planning ahead...we still have to agree on a boy's name if that's what we end up having, even though its probably going to be at least another year. We've agreed on a girl's name though.

I can relate. I had a boy's name picked out two years before we were even expecting our first. We didn't know the boy/girl status until after birth, and good thing he was a boy, because we still hadn't picked out a girl name.

Her grandma's maiden name is Phillipe, and there was a Deacon Phillipe who pitched for the 1900's Pittsburgh Pirates. He got the win in game 1 of the first ever World Series, and held the strikeout record until Cliff Lee broke it (or tied it?) this year. So we thought that maybe they were related, but grama says we're not. Still, she likes it, and we didn't come up with anything better. My job was to make sure it wasn't in the top 100 boys names.
We had Sloane picked out for a girl for over a year now. Like the chick in Ferris Buller.

The foodland parking garage had to be one of the worst investments ever. It was only up for maybe five years.
Come to think of it, all of my memories of it involve marijuana and 3D doritos too.

Mom, all you had to do was to have changed
"Ason" to Agirl" or "Adaughter", unless Ason, Bson are not the names on the birth certificate.
I believed those were the kids names.  |
