You all called it that. I don't. My point was they paid for it with land. If its paid for its not socialized. How much has the US (us) profitted from the land grab to date and how much "free" medical have they recieved to date. Its not even close. |

And, Pap, the benefits that black Americans should be reaping under your scenario were paid for with slave labor. And you can't give freedom back to those people who were dead and gone before the slaves were freed.

Not to mention that what we want, at the least, is a public option health insurer that we will PAY PREMIUMS to in exchange for insurance... You don't even have to buy those big, heavy chains or have any of your soldiers scalped... just open up shop and let me give you my money!

 Exactly what I was thinking as I was reading through. If I'm connecting all of pap's comments, what he's saying is that they should pass reform with a public option that is only available to decendents of slaves.

'Socialized medicine' is when the government owns the facilities, employs the workers, and delivers the care. Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities are owned by the US Government, the US government employs the workers and is responsible for delivering the care. Hence, IHS is socialized medicine. That you choose to mendaciously rationalize it as not being socialized care is your own foolishness. Claiming that you yourself haven't referred to it as socialized medicine is a flat out lie.

Then I supoose all government workers are socialists. The government owns the facilities, employees them.
You all were calling it socialist,I said if you see it as scoiclist then lets give them back the land and let them pay for their own medical. I would think that by now all REZs had at least one casino, so money is available and the government should no longer be needed unless it is to try to address the past wrongs by stealing the indians land. |

We are saying it is socialist because it IS... but we don't have a problem with that... we want socialist health insurance, too
