I pretty much agree with everything Dick said... I was an INSTANT napoleon dynamite fan... and it just gets better and better. Anchorman is the most quotable movie ever... and zoolander is underrated... but not terribly so. I enjoyed it more the second time than the first, but I think it may have peaked there... if I watch it a third time, I might think it's done... enough chit chat... it's time for ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPACCINOS! _________________ The end is nigh! I think another one that's underrated is Snatch. That movie was essentially the basis for my and my friends' entire lexicon for three years of college. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Ninja Turtles had the same effect on me in kindergarten _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Lol. There are things from Snatch that if we had said them in kindergarden, we would have been put in jail immediately.
Everything is in a cockney Brit accent -
*Tyrone tries to parallel park, backs car into a massive armored truck at like 30 mph*
Sol: What have you done, Tyrone?
Vince: Yeah Tyrone, what have you done?
Tyrone: It was a funny angle!
Vince: (looks over shoulder, back at Tyrone) It was behind you, Tyrone. Whenever you reverse, things come from behind you!
Also, one of Brad Pitts greatest performances ever in that movie. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I kind of missed out on Snatch. When I was in college, I was just discovering Godfather, Scarface, Full Metal Jacket... and a lot of other quoteable movies. For some reason, I missed out on the whole quoting movies thing growing up. My college friends caught me up real quick though.
When I came home to visit my high school friends, they were all quoting Snatch and trying to talk like Pikers. Its a pretty good movie.
Ninja Turtles had that effect on me in grade school, and Beavis & Butthead in middle school (unfortunately for every adult in my life). _________________

Reservoir Dogs is a different kind of movie in my opinion. Different genre. Lock Stock is a good movie too, but I never liked it near as much as Snatch. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Brant- Thank you for the suggestions...The only one that I've seen on that list is "City of God"...Great movie!
Dick- I think the reason I like "What about Bob?" is that my ex-bf's dad was a psychotherapist and he had a patient named Bob that was just like Bill Murray's character. He joined their church choir, would call him constantly, showed up at their house uninvited..."Broken Flowers" and "Life Aquatic: Steve Zissou" are good movies!
I love the first two Godfather movies. The third one, not so much. I also really like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Reservoir Dogs. Fight Club is another good one! _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. Fight Club is one of my top 10 favorite movies. I only didn't mention it because I think its pretty widely critically lauded, so I didn't consider it to be underrated. Another one from the same director, David Fincher, is Se7en, one of the most disturbing movies ever made but a fantastic film if you can stomach it. _________________ The end is nigh! Se7en is GREAT! I did have to look away in certain scenes...I just finished watching Inglourious Basterds...It was really good too! Sometimes I really want to dislike Brad Pitt, but I can't. He's a good actor and he's in many cool movies. Dear Ondi, Your new button reminded me of my favorite joke that I haven't thought of in YEARS....I hope you haven't heard it yet...
-------
Little Johnny wants a new bike for Christmas, so his mom tells him to write a letter to santa....
He starts out, "Dear Santa, if you bring me a bike, I promise to be good for six months." And he shows the letter to his mom...She says, "Johnny, you should be realistic with your promises..."
---------
He tears up the letter and begins again, "Dear santa, if you bring me a new bike, I'll be good for six weeks..." Then he thinks about it and tears up that one, too...
-------
Then, "Dear santa, I'll be good for six days if..." and he stops, and tears it up.....
-------
Sitting there frustrated, he stares out the window at the manger scene across the way...He leaves the house and crosses the street
and picks up the little plastic Jesus....Wraps it in a blanket, carries it to his room, and places it in his dresser drawer...Then he starts to write again...
--------
"Dear santa, if you ever want to see your son again, you'd better bring me a new bike..." _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Just popped on the TV and watched part of one of my all-time favorite movies, "Breaking Away." Highly recommended. _________________

But Ondi, that was supposed to be a private message, and as apology to the sanctity of the thread, I offer these underrated movie choices...
--------
The Mission...Robert DeNiro as a conquistador who seeks forgiveness
--------
The Thirteenth Floor...Prime Rib compared to the bubble gum of The Matrix
---------
Memento...every tattoo must tell a story..
---------
Plus, Time Bandits and The Never-Ending Story -- just in case you haven't had the pleasure... _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |
