I keep my beer in a wine cooler that I don't keep wine in... I keep my wine in a rack that is against an exterior wall... which means my reds are always perfect and my whites are always a half hour from perfect (if i put them in the fridge for a half hour)... For beer, I keep them in the wine cooler, which is at probably around 45 degrees or so... If I am going to have a beer, I either move one to the fridge for a little while or pour into my freezy mug.
So, I will leave it in the cooler for now. I know that you aren't supposed to keep beer on its side like that, but eh, what's the worst that can happen? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

There are differing schools of thought on that as well. Mostly, the ones who say don't store the beer on its side are concerned with the mixing of the yeast sediment on to the beer. If you're like me, then the solution would be to set the beer upright for about 3 minutes, and then crack it since I don't much care about the sediment. If you were a sediment purist, I could see how it would be problematic.
Also, this got left on the previous page so I want to bump it:

I don't know how I am about sediment... I assume that I am all for it, considering that I enjoy (relatively speaking) sediments in other beverages such as coffee and tea... And besides, if I drink it in small enough portions (wine glass) then its just like having a REALLY different beverage at the end compared to at the beginning... and it comes in a bathtub sized bottle, so I will probably be too buzzed to give a chit if my beer turns gritty
BTW, that elliot ness lager is delish... Tommy Likey _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

The thing is, I REALLY like the taste of ale... so I am automatically drawn to ale... I specifically avoided the burning river and some other assorted ales so that I could try something new... and since I didn't dislike the stella, I figured I'd try another lager... and it ended up tasting like ale. It's great, really... and only like 9 bucks... so that's fly, but not a "new" experience, per se.

So, I have two glasses of the chimay left in the bottle... It has a taste of spice in it... Anise? Nutmeg? It's not a straight "beer" taste... What is that? It hides that 8% abv well... I'm fuzzy for no discernable reason _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I went out of town...you know what that means...picked up a sixer of a christmas beer that's called hibernation ale...rated very highly on BA and one I've heard lots of good things about. Haven't seen it anywhere up here, so this is a real treat. Its also like 11 % abv, so you can see why its called hibernation ale. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Great Divide brews are always at Fatheads. You definitely have one of the better styles in your possession... I'm very jealous. I'm also a big fan of their Yeti Oak Aged brew. _________________

What did you think of the Dragon's Milk?
Went to a Thai restauraunt on New Years Eve and drank a Singha, which is brewed in Bangkok. It was very light and crisp. I assumed that it was a rice beer, and didn't see anything on the label to tell me otherwise. For that reason (rice), I don't drink too many Asian beers. Singha might be the acception. It complimented the spicy Thai food very well. I'd drink another with my meal, but I wouldn't invest on an entire case at the distributor. _________________

Ok, Singha is not a rice beer. (My work computer blocks all beer websites, so I didn't bother looking it up. But I found another site that talked about it.)
"Singha has for many years been Thailand's most popular beer. ... using barley malt and hops (not rice as some believe) to complement Thai food. ..." _________________

Singha actually isn't a rice beer. Rice beers are limited almost exclusively to Japan; most other Asian beers are done in the style of American or European lagers. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Male Date-Drug
|
|
| Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink by any woman.
| Many females use a date-drug on the market called 'Beer ' .
| The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from taps and in large kegs.
| Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and sleep with them.
| A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex.
| Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several Beers , men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted.
| After drinking Beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that 'something bad'occurred.
| At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings, in a familiar scam known as 'a relationship' . In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as 'marriage'.
| Men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.
| Please forward this warning to every male you know.
| If you fall victim to this 'Beer 'scam and the women administering it, there are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter with similarly victimized men.
| For the support group nearest you, just look up 'Golf Courses'in the phone book.
