God I hope so... I bet they'll all puss out when it comes to actually sealing the deal, though...

I'm curious...Why do you believe that? We didn't even get a public option...Most of the bill is about setting regulations for health insurance companies...

Cy and E-if you truly believe that we should step toward socialized medicine then we have nothing further to discuss on this isue.

Ondi-the government has become involved in entirely too much in the last year. We are now trying to regulate the banking, auto, oil, and drug industries and now we are going to tell the insurance industry how to do business. Is that capitalism or socialism-I will let you decide.

Yes, the big evil health insurance companies are going to make more money because of the mandate. This may be hard for you to wrap your head around, but more profits for the health insurance industry and a better insurance system are not mutually exclusive.

The healthcare industry should be heavily regulated since people's lives depend on it...Like E said, regulation does not socialism. I'm also tired of this all or nothing scenario conservatives paint. Many countries, like Norway, Sweden, etc... have mixed economies. Capitalism & socialism can successfully coexist...

OK Cy-so what happened to listening to your voters? If the Dems pushing this bill knew it was not what people wanted, why force it through? Do they think it will be easier to get the public option now? Good luck with that one. I think yesterdays vote may have ended some political careers-at least I hope it does!

I agree that regulation does not equal socialism. But taking over control of companies like GM DOES.

No one has that much head to wrap around this thing, but what are "Health care companies " exactly?

Just like the poll on the Fox News site that said over 90% of people gave Obama an A+ on his job performance! Wink

Likewise Cy I want to vomit everytime today I have read it was a UNIVERSAL health care bill. It is a LONG way from being universal. But I am sure that still has Kennedy Jr. and Pelosi high-fiving each other.

It's clearly not universal since Zorlocks from Frobototron are entirely excluded Smile

They were not excluded, they are in Samoa picking pinapples and all Samoans were excluded by Congress. as a small matter of fact, Frobototron fell from the pineapple tree and an undersized (boy was he lucky) pineapple lodged into his rectal canal(azz orifice).
Since he was excluded in this bill, Zorlocks assumed the responsibily to dislodge said canal blockage. he successfully manually removed it after several manual attempts. All of this despite Frobototron's screaminf like a effin banchee monkey.

But not without more then a few deletions by someone censoring this post.
