Spike, everyone is entitled to live in the way they choose, to believe or not believe as they see fit. None of us knows if what we believe is the real truth. Anyone who says they do is a delusion liar. We all have to pick our path, and we won't know if it is the right path until we're dead. Personally, I think it's more important to be kind to others and do what you can to help the less fortunate and those who are discriminated against than to simply hitch my wagon to a particular savior and see that as all that is necessary to achieve some sort of post-life salvation. _________________

Well, good luck with that Brant. It sound so nice doesnt it? But, see, I see more than what you call delusion. ---I KNOW. Its proven to me everyday. But, one who is ignorant cant see that--your blind man. I wish you could have like a preview or something...thats all it would take. But, one must believe first. You aint there yet. I hope you get there-really.Ill even say a prayer for you Brant. |

That's fine for YOU to believe. But that doesn't make it factual. And I've always said that if the clouds part some day when I'm mowing the lawn and God comes down from the sky and asks me to join his team, I'm in. Otherwise, I'll just try to live a good life and not affiliate myself with any of the thousands of belief systems floating around the world. Because there's really no way of telling which one of those religions, if any, is correct. Wouldn't it be funny if the Hindus had the only true path to salvation?

Why are so many religious people also angry people? I've never been able to figure that one out. _________________

I'm not suggesting that a large percentage of religious people are angry, but that religion seems to breed in some people an anger that would not be evident without the presence of their religion. One example would be those right-wing Christians who get in a lather about the idea of gay people getting married. If it weren't for religion-based opposition, there really would exist no opposition. _________________

Dude, I am not really an angry person. I have moments though, but its not most of my being. I guess it just kinda gets to me that I was only sharing that I didnt think making a joke about God was funny then, all"hell" broke loose, and I began feeling attacked as anyone would surely see. So, it got to where I have had enough and it kinda came out "now, get off...blah,blah. Plus, I think when folks are close to God they can kinda see through others -not some kind of magical thing, but a real given characteristic, where you see truth and you see lies and it makes for a sinical approach to some. In the big picture,I dont see many angry for real Christians-for real in that they fully believe Jesus died for they're sins and its through this belief they can obtain forgiveness for those sins, and live eternally with God and be in Heaven. When at that point in a persons life, it is a shame about those who cant see-about the wasted time, the struggles, the anger towards a God that is blamed for every bad thing that occurs. This aint Heaven folks. So, quit projecting blame upon God. Its part of the denial system that keeps folks doubting and so easily judgemental. Its the same kinda-why are nonbelievers so arrogant and non sincere and blaming. I mean come on. The point is again missed because of that kind of thing.I have a pretty long list unfortunately of reasons I should not be here--but, there is only one answer I have found-and that is God. Yep, when one gets things typed about them ignorantly, it can tend to bring out some anger-weather it be you or me. Aint no one perfect. The very qualities you live by are just and the only thing missing is a belief. Hey, Im not here to talk you or anyone into believing--Im not into that-and that was immediately put upon me. But, I aint no pushover, nor a fool. No, Im still human and I have defects. I have work to do on myself yet and always will. Till then, you spit on me, Im smashing you-twice. OH! and, gay marriage is wrong btw. |

As I said, aint no one perfect. I would bet you would be the same way Brant--I wouldnt think you would take being spit upon lightly-at all. So, just because I believe doesnt make me have to be perfect-and whew!,thank God about that-cause I would fail.Other than a very few things Brant, I would easily call you a friend. I'd have a beer or two with ya...I'd hang out and watch the grass grow on a porch too.But,... I wasnt sure where I was heading with that.Oh well.

Why is gay marriage wrong, Spike? If two people love one another and want to spend their lives together, why deny them the right to do so legally? Your God is kind of a dick. _________________
