Refs being incredibly generous with calls for the Cowboys. Hoculi must be a Dallas fan.

The Eagles O can't do crap, and the result is the D is giving Dallas whatever they want. They are going to need some Jesus like inspiration at half time to turn this one around.

Hoculi all the way down on Romo's shaft now. Chin to ball contact.

PHI @ DAL - I really like this game. Its not often that an arch rival stomps on your throat in your own house and you get the opportunity to turn around the very next week, go into their house, and do the same, but with much larger implications. There are only a few teams that can take advantage of that, but this Eagles team is one of them. Week 17 was a fluke for an offense with explosive scoring options. Dallas is riding a little high after actually winning some December games, but that playoff monkey is a heavy one. They shut the Eagles out, sure, but they weren't that impressive. The Eagles won't perform as they did twice in a row and the Boys' Romo tends to be underwhelming in the playoffs...and he's basically the key to their success. If the Eagles find ways to rush him and contain both Austin and Witten, they can win running away. The Cowboys' secondary is outmatched by the likes of Desean Jackson. Eagles, 37-20

Don't let the score fool you, this game was more like a bajillion to negative one, Cowboys. As usual, they are also the luckiest team in the league (no injuries, no possible games not in domes left until the Super Bowl), and the most favored team (by the refs). Still, they won this one with or without help. The Eagles were atrocious. A high school team would have done better. A Pop Warner team would have done better. The Eagles don't deserve to remain in the NFL after this performance. The Cowboys...well, I hate to say it, but they could be dangerous for any team left if they turn this into momentum, although this performance needs to be taken with a grain of salt; the Eagles made a solid performance look like an all-start performance. If I had to pick right this second, I could see the Jets, the Colts, the Chargers or the Pats knocking the Cowboys off. Of course, those are all AFC. In the NFC, I think the Vikes could do it...and that's it. I don't think Green Bay matches up with them well, I think the Cards are too one dimensional and I think the Saints are deflated right now. Basically, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Cowboys in the Super Bowl this year. And that makes me nauseous.

The Baltimore Ravens are eating the Patriots alive right now.

Will do my post on Ravens Pats when this game is over. Just want to say its a shame I haven't been watching the late game from the start. Greg Jennings just made a sick catch and from what I understand, its been like that for both teams all day. Also, looks like GB is about to tie it up and make it OT...at 45 a piece! If someone had asked you to take the over on a point total of 90...would you have dared?

Neil Rackers just missed the chip shot that would have won it. Now the game will be decided by a coin toss...

BAL @ NE - The Pats have just not been themselves this year and they don't have a Tom Brady injury to blame it on...they do have to look forward to playing without Wes Welker, who is gone at least until next season if not longer. Welker leads the NFL in receptions, despite not playing for basically two games. That loss is HUGE. However, Bellyfat is money in the playoffs. Somehow, he is going to find a way to win this one; Flacco is still too green in my opinion. And don't forget about Randy Moss. Moss has largely been a tool to get Welker open this season, but he is more than capable of winning this game pretty much on his own as far as the passing game is concerned. The Pats have a decent running game in the red zone at least, and unlike most teams, they actually do benefit from resting players, which they did last week. If they can rattle Flacco early on the other side, this one might be lopsided. Pats, 24-17

GB @ ARI - This is the hardest pick of the four to me this week. At first glance, I like Arizona to roll because they have the weapon that Fitzgerald is and the experienced QB in Warner...but they are in a bad place with injuries right now. Rogers-Cromartie is their best DB, and he's hobbled at best. Offensively, it looks like Boldin won't play. They still have the aforementioned Fitz and Breaston (the best overall receiving unit in the NFL? Probably), but Boldin is a huge loss for Warner. Green Bay has shown flashes of brilliance on defense, and Warner isn't immune to being pressured. For the Pack's offense, Rodgers has really matured this season. I don't know...maybe part of me wants to see the Pack meet the Vikes this post season for the storyline. But I just feel like the Pack is going to pull this one off. They've been on a better run to end their season that the Cards, who will probably be a bit rusty on top of those injuries. I'm extremely hesitant about this one, but Pack, 29-25

Okay, first, the AFC game. This game looked like Boys Eagles, but the home game is the one that didn't show up. The Pats were uncharacteristically unprepared and showed absolutely no drive to win. I guess they missed Welker more than anyone thought they would. Baltimore, on the other hand, was at the right place at the right time all day and never failed to take advantage. Unfortunately, teams at the next level aren't going to gift them points like the Pats did today. If they don't get to running like they did today, they may not have the same level of success.

For the NFC, this was easily the best game of the weekend. The Cards did what it took to win and I like their momentum going forward. I could seem them repeating a SB appearance this year after that game, mostly because their D had an abnormally bad game. They won't be that porous again but they will be that explosive on offensive. That's a dangerous recipe.

So, 1-3 on the weekend.

And Terry Bradshaw has really gotten old!

ARI @ NO - New Orleans made a reputation for themselves early on as a team that could drop serious points on your in short order. But they wilted something serious late in the season and rolled into the playoffs, still with the 1 seed of course, in neutral. Of all the first round byes, this team is the one I think suffers for it most. They have no momentum and all the reason in the world to be rusty. Enter Arizona, who just came out on the winning end of the highest scoring playoff game of all time ever. Granted, NO has more scoring power than GB, but Arizona's defensive performance was a fluke. And we've all seen what happens when they start to build a head of steam; this team is largely the same as last year's NFC champ version and largely as healthy (Boldin should be back). This is my upset pick. I like Arizona to go on a similar run to last year. Cards, 38-35

My plan to have the worst playoff picks record ever is nearing completion.

The older generation of Ravens fans is gonna be pissed tomorrow. Probably nothing worse to them than losing to the Colts in the playoffs, especially when their own team keeps shooting themselves in the foot.

The Ravens were the last of the teams that I absolutely didn't want to be in the Super Bowl. Whoever wins now is fine by me.

What about the Cowboys?

BAL @ IND - Indy is more or less the AFC version of NO. On top of that, their playoff struggles after resting starters are well documented. The difference between this team and NO is Indy chose to rest while undefeated whereas NO was beaten fair and square trying their best, and then didn't play another meaningful game until now. Furthermore, there's something special about Peyton Manning, who I think will feel rejuvenated after being awarded yet another MVP. Baltimore is still too green on offense and too old on defense; the Colts certainly have the capability to gash them across the field, and I think they will. Colts, 30-17

The Colts spotted the Ravens' weakness and exploited it. Once Ray Rice was contained, their offense was over. They have no other viable receivers and Todd Heap was playing hurt. The Colts offense, on the other hand, is way to versatile for a Ravens defense that kept shooting themselves in the foot. The game was over when Ed Reed picked Manning and looked to be taking it to the house when the receiver he beat, Pierre Garcon, caught back up to him and stripped the ball directly into Dallas Clarks' hands, restarting the drive as if nothing had happened. The Ravens' spirits were broken at that point.
