Read some of your responses to me Abomb and Brant. I call them attacks. I am not shoving anything down anyone's throat, as if it were possible. I am expressing my feelings peacefully and respectfully. When you say things like "You're the worst Christian I have ever known," or say false things about what I believe, twisting words or picking something you know others will agree with you on, while omitting other points of my posts...yeah, I think of it as an attack. You may not believe in God or satan, but you speak the words of the latter one, satan, "the accuser of the brethren" and YOU are on his hook.

I guess I should add that all the above words are meant to be critically of conservative christiandom in general and are in no way directed at you specifically. It would be pretty silly of me to say anything about you in particular since I do not know you in person.

It was you, Jane, who said in an earlier discussion about religion that "this is war to me." Apparently, you want to wage some sort of "Christian soldier" war in which the other side just lies down in front of you. Well, that ain't going to happen. When right-wing Christians try to impose their will on the rest of us, and expect our government to be run based on their beliefs, they WILL be met with opposition. It's amusing to me that you talk about waging some sort of culture war and are shocked - shocked, I tell you - that someone would disagree with you. And when Abomb challenges you on something, maybe it only seems like goading because you don't have a sensible reply and are unable to rationally and consistently defend your faith. And Satan has me on his hook? I guess that would explain why my head has been doing 360s lately. It does help you notice if someone is sneaking up on you, but then, I'm not the one who is paranoid and has a persecution complex.

Plain Jane why is it when atheists are in a bad situation they suddenly find God? like saying God Almighty help me?? Comfort is found in my ways but the easiest and cheapest is finding your inner strength and peace and sometimes that isn't easy. When we do need help It feels right to know someone up there is there helping us sort things out. It may not be the answer we want to hear but it's the one we need. Bless you.

Dazes, when I asked the resident atheists the question about what would they do if their loved one was dying or if they were trapped in a car, would they turn to God, and they said no. Do I believe them...no. In the world at large you hear a lot of "Oh My God", "Why is God allowing this?" and "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family", etc. Some will blame God when they never even believed in Him before, but many people do look to God in desperate times and I feel God allows certain out of control situations because He knows for some its the only way they will turn to Him.

Thanks for that Mr. Abomb. I really wouldn't expect my words to convict or convert you. That happens to be the job of the Holy Spirit, and He is good at it. I am trying to expose the falsehood I see here just like you are. We just happen to have opposing beliefs.
