I don't believe in miracles. I believe that life is what you make it. If a person close to me was dying, I would encourage them not to give up hope. As far as I'm concerned, god is just a personification of the human will in these situations. If you need to put a face and a personality to your will to live to make it easier to hold onto, more power to you. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Plain Jane, you are talking to the most hateful, disgusting, bigotted people on these forums, and they are the ones claiming to be of such great compassion for their fellow man....

Perhaps you're being a bit too harsh phony. From what I have read, most on this forum have compassion, especially when someone agrees with their views.
In the Bible, Jesus had compassion for people in all walks of life, he healed the sick, opened blind eyes, raised the dead, cast out demons, fed the hungry, not to mention he FORGAVE while ultimately dying for their sins. I don't read anywhere that he was tolerant of their sins. He wanted them to be SET FREE from it! _________________ It's almost 2010! Why do I not have my own personal robot? |

I love religious people... in fact, I have a weekly quota of helping at least 3 old church ladies cross the street _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

You are so right Jane, their thoughts and responses are like a one way street and if you deviate from that street; then will come to you:"road rage"

Also Jane, there are and have been miracles, which many may or may not have known how to describe them. They simply accept them in their own quiet way. |

ellipses, I wouldn't call myself a "spring chicken", not even a "summer chicken", perhaps a "fall chicken". Sometimes this chicken needs to cross the road with help because I carry far too much!
busdriver, I like how your replies are in sync with your name! Keep on Trucking and thanks for the encouraging words. _________________ It's almost 2010! Why do I not have my own personal robot? |

I agree with you, Plain, but it angers me when you post, and their response is either a lowly condescending remark or an outright attack. We have a few atheists who are guilty of this, and they have a high and mighty attitude attempting to demonstrate that they are the greatest and we are to be dismissed as "kooks". _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

Yep, I have been the victim of such attacks so I know what you're talking about. In response to one of my replies to one of their attacks, someone said my response was not "becoming". What pot is calling the kettle black here? They say whatever they want...but when I defend my position it's not becoming??? And what is this a beauty contest? It's not a contest at all but you would never know it. _________________ It's almost 2010! Why do I not have my own personal robot? |

It seems that anytime one disagrees with a so-called Christian viewpoint, it's an attack. That's not the case at all. Just because someone doesn't believe what you're saying and perhaps points out a hole in your argument doesn't mean they are attacking you. _________________

Yeah, the common christian approach is to shove it down your throat and then react like they are being persecuted when you don't swallow it. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
