Acne, heart condition, body weight...who cares? The point is her coverage was canceled and it shouldn't have been. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Does lying about her body weight and a heart condition reduce her insurance premiums? |

Does telling the truth about her heart and body weight prevent her from getting coverage at all? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I was seriously asking the question.
It wasn't one of those questions that you answer and then I make a point. I really don't know. Nor do I know the answer to your question. |

My answer to your question would be, "I hope so." The health insurance industry makes more than enough money as it is. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

My guess is her premium wouldn't change. But they may have initially refused her coverage. Insurance companies seem to have no rules to follow. _________________ -amom

The only problem I had w/ this story is that lying about her weight would be insurance fraud. To my knowledge, she could have made herself look like less of a risk, when she was actually a walking time bomb.
Plus, I thought I'd confuse a few of the conservative posters. Where are they on this one? Oh yeah, they don't comment on stuff they would have to read. I'm sure they'll have an opinion after Rush tells them how to feel. |

If it was really 5 lbs, I don't think it should matter... My weight fluctuates a good 5 lbs throughout the day, depending on what I'm wearing, what I've eaten, and when I last dropped the kids off at the pool...
The bigger picture is, if you are 5 lbs overweight and had a fast heartbeat 2 years ago, you may be SOL for insurance.
I consider myself a non-smoker... but if I was Mr. Honest Abe on an insurance application, I would have to say Yes, I HAVE used tobacco in the past 12 months. I also have Pleurisy, which is considered a chronic condition... even though it only bothered me once, two years ago... Does that count as a heart condition? It affects my chest cavity... I am on no prescriptions, and don't really think of it as something that I "live with" every day... I had some pain a couple of years ago and it's gone now. But to be Mr Truthful, I guess I should present myself as a smoker with a heart condition... Oh, I forgot about my esophageal muscle spasms I had in 2003... again, a one time thing... does that count? Am I a smoker with heart disease AND a nervous system condition?
I hope I don't grow a mole... geez! _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Gee, imagine that.....an American corporation "making money".....how can we have that???
Aren't we supposed to "share the wealth" and rob this corporation of it's money???? _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

i guess you'd like for health insurance corps to continue to have carte blanche to rob regular working Americans, is that it? _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Adequate health insurance coverage and profit are mutually exclusive. If you want to make money, sell jeans or ipods _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

OK read it. It is against the law to lie on an insurance form.I know because our agent told us you can get into big trouble. This was a life insurance policy and one of the questions was about liver conditions. At the time my husband had alcohol hepatitis. We said at the time he wasn't drinking anymore. which was true then, so we weren't sure if his liver was still bad. We were told that they would find out because you essentially give your permission to get past medical records. They would find out. So we answered yes and the policy was approved but at the same price of my then 65 year old Dad. My husband was 26 at the time. We didn't get the policy, too much money. I would assume its the same for hospitalization. |
