Do you ever notice people leaving their purse or personal items unattended while shopping?

I throw my purse in the child seat all the time, but I don't have it open and I hang on to the strap while I push the cart. But, I admit it, it's all by itself when I reach for something to buy. In fact, I had a little old lady admonish me in the store for doing so one day. _________________ -amom

This question reminds me of when somebody asks me about some fancy car thats out, or a cell phone plan, or country music......
These are things that my brain isn't wired to pay attention to. I'm not in the market for a free purse, so I really don't notice. |

I always notice but its because I have a mind that wanders onto a hundred things at once. I'm always the guy at the party when someone is like, "that movie that just came out with the guy from the thing," who responds with the actor's name, the movie's name, the director's name, the year it came out, and trivia like the opening song is the same one from this other movie. But you have to tell me your name 20 times before I remember it. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

90% of the time, i have a million things happening in my head... but I will stare at a jar of peanut butter for 45 seconds trying to remember why I'm in the kitchen...
I don't notice unattended purses... mostly because I am trying to block out the fact that there are other people shopping at THE giant eagle while I'm there... _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I like to notice things like that because I like to think of how badass I would look if someone came up and snatched it and then I immediately tripped them up and saved the day. And then I buy the wrong kind of lettuce and my wife tells me to pay more attention at the store. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Yeah, sometimes I try to figure out which shoppers are really undercover ninjas... and then I try to think of what items in the aisle would be useful in hand to hand combat... and then I notice how much care goes into organizing items by brand groupings, but how illogical it can sometimes be when you are looking for something by product and not by brand. And then I think about the things that we just always buy the SAME brand/variety of and never even looked at the MYRIAD of other choices and wonder if any of them are really better and if we've been missing out on anything. Then I think about the song that they are playing and how that same song was playing at this time last week and I wonder if you go in the giant eagle at the same time on any given day, if the same song will be playing at that time each day... and then I resolve to remember the time and the song to check on this next week while knowing that I will forget before I even get out of the store.
Then my wife is like OH MY GOD! Did you see that squirrel run down the aisle??? That's crazy!
And I'm like... what?
And she's like... are you on earth right now? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Raddichio's by the Sharp Edge organizes by product instead of brand. Its bizarrely unsettling when you go, like waking up from a dream and immediately forgetting everything about it except that it seemed really important. My favorite part about the grocery store is imaging what I would do if I was in there with no one else but a few equally crazy friends. Shopping cart jousting and shopping cart polo are the two most common ideas. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
