That's kinda his reply too! I'm just wondering if it's a declared disaster area, if he can be written up for not going. He's still in his probationary period. |

I'm pissed because if this would have happened tomorrow, we would have had no school on Monday. Perfectly good snowstorm wasted! |

Nah, CanonMac never closes. We did have an early dismissal yesterday, a whole 20 minutes. We lowly employees, not the teachers, were supposed to stay till our regular time, but our principal told us to go! |

My line to the house is caked in ice and the old TV line has already snapped (we don't have cable so it doesn't matter to us). I'm crossing my fingers that it holds until tomorrow when we're supposed to get some sun. I'm going to be super pissed if I can't watch the Super Bowl. |
Our power went out at 11PM last night and was out until 10:30 AM. I am glad it wasn't to cold last night. Just got my first coffee and have almost shoveled my driveway. Shoveling could take most of the day. |

My power was out from about 10pm last night until 11am this morning. Shoveling the driveway in shifts with my wife... then it's time to bath the dog and cook something _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

When i talked with my Mom today she said her power went out (like pap's) last night around 11pm, was restored in the early morning, then went out again until just before noon. Which meant that she had no heat all night (furnace blower wouldn't blow) and her oxygen machine wouldn't work. And she's just getting over a bout of pneumonia. YIKES! She said she just stayed in bed with extra covers piled on - it was the warmest spot in her condo.
Of course the only thing that's got her really irritated is that her cable is out and she can't watch television. No Fox News today. She said she couldn't even get any local radio this morning - just a station from WV. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

The extreme cold is going to hurt a lot of folks today. Finally convinced my folks to move out here. They had power for 3 hours (Washington) yesterday, but it has been out since 9PM Friday. Spent 9 hours on the backhoe plowing out ours and a neighbor's drive before breaking a steering cylinder. Hoping temporary repairs hold long enough to get another elderly neighbor plowed out today. _________________

Just to update all my pals, I'm at the office. It's 1 p.m. Sunday, and we haven't had power at the house (or water) since 10 p.m. Friday. Our days consist of huddling under covers in the bed, taking the dogs out, then huddling under the covers again. We're making a swing through town to catch up on e-mails, etc., and get a hot meal. Then it's off to my uncle's for a shower. He lives in an even more remote spot than us but still has electricity. Then back with the dogs for a while, and then, maybe, off to Breezy Heights Tavern for some wings, beer and football. Then back to huddling. Gotta love country living. _________________

Just a few minutes ago we got power, off over 24 hours, kids are po'ed because we we out of contact, but everything was off since friday and I am not much for cell phones.
Had over 20"' of snow here , temp in here was 40 degrees in the house, went out for coffee this am, but everything was closed so I made do with instant using my hot water tank water, which was still very hot. |
