Phony--as usual, your reading comprehension skills leave a lot to desire. I didn't say that it's the parents' job to teach. What I said is that school shootings, teenage pregnancies & suicide, have nothing to do with teaching & education, yet you're blaming the schools for them. The parents are supposed to teach their kids the morals that keep them from getting pregnant, shooting other students & committing suicide. Do you understand now?

Well, my brother, a retired college professor, said that each successive year, the quality of the students entering college were dumber and dumber.....many had to take remedial courses....

Ana, as usual, you demonstrate the stupidity that continuously worsens.....how can you expect parents (whose morals leave a lot to be desired) to teach kids morality, when you libchits have a constant campaign to remove morality from everyday life.....

The year that I graduated from HS, Pitt had raised its standards requiring all students to have at least 3 years of a language. Since I only had two years of Spanish, if I had chosen to go to Pitt, I would've had to take a "what phony is calling a remedial" Spanish course.
During orientation, all incoming students have to take a standardized test. I did know a few kids who did poorly in a subject and were required to take a class that wasn't worth a college credit.

I thought that you said teachers are supposed to teach the basics. Are you now suggesting that they teach morality too? You really have no idea what you're talking about!
