When I started posting on the old O-R Poll, I would just be as crude as possible and make jokes at others expense. It was all anonymous, and I was just keeping myself entertained throughout the day. I would see ellipses, amom, and Brant, among others, leaving a handle after their opinion. So one day, I decided I wanted to be associated with my words... I would be "The Dude"... in honor of Big Lebowski.
It was a cool summer day. The air was misty. It was one of those days where the moon hung in the sky into the early afternoon. I was eating an apple for breakfast while I sipped at my lukewarm coffee. After signing my first ever post with my new handle, "The Dude", another poster came at me and called me a "dick" (meaning wonderful person). So I ran with it. And I've gone by "dick" ever since. Gotta admittt, it fits. _________________

It will be a day, like any other day, with the sun spitting in your face and the mad horde of humanity that surrounds you reminding you how fragile and imperfect their minds can be while you feed the dog the last remaining cat food and wonder where orange kitty has gone... _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

The story of my previous call sign is more interesting. As people started to comment on the old poll more and more, people started leaving signoffs. I resisted this, preferring to remain somewhat inseparable from the cloud of anonymous users for a while, making it hard to pinpoint when I was saying something to someone or when it was someone else. Somebody, don't remember who, kept getting all pissed when you would respond to his comments without a signoff because it meant you were afraid of him or something. It wasn't a very logical argument because he signed off with a made up name too and it was like, "only anonymous people with made up names have the balls to face me." So, to spite him, I started signing off as "anonymous." That was eventually shortened to "anon" so I didn't have to type the full word every time.
At times I would use a couple other sign offs to continue to confuse people. One day, I spent the whole day as "Kim Jong ILL." I used a couple others but don't remember them. Then, after a while I realized that every time I posted my opinion, somebody blew up over it. So I changed my name from "anon" to "Abomb!" And I went with that for a long time until I finally switched over to my screename that I use everywhere else for consistency's sake.

Then there was JDangles, who would turn every topic into a reason to oppose gay marriage.

Oh yeah, I think he was the one that got his panties in a twist if you commented without a name at the bottom. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

You've all probably noticed on here, that the views to replies ratio is about ten to one, for every major subject...What does that say to you..? _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

Unbelievable how time flies elsewhere, but it seems like forever that I've been commenting here and on the old poll.
