What is a word if not a weapon, then?
Per chance a toy or game for childrens' play
Or could it be a means of making friends
Yet also tools to make them go away
A word is way to bridge the gap 'tween men
Or mend connections broken in the past
Yet also used, create divides it can
Or isolate one member of the cast
A word can be the cloud that blocks the view
Or ray of sun which splits the haze of storm
It can birth love and life from naught anew
Or oxidize the metal of their form

Is it all these things or is it more grand?
A word is that which makes a man a man
