| Celebrate your heritage all you want, you know thats not what I am talking about. I you are a Jew and you sit around whining about the Holocaust and say this country is keeping me down because my forefathers were Jewish, then yes you've got a problem. Germany owes us reparation, you got a serious mental issue. You are not a slave and you are not running from Somalian drug lords. Make life the best you can. Celebrate where you came from but don't put yourself in modern day bondage because that solved nothing. Are you trying to piss me off or aren't you getting the point I am trying to make? |

No, I'm not getting your point. I literally don't know a single black person who has ever whined about slavery in my presence. And I have know quite a few. Furthermore, no where in this thread was a story about such an occurrence brought up. I guess I'm having trouble understanding why it entered the conversation or what relevance it has.

| You brought it up ding dong, when you started bitching about the white man. If you have ever listened to talk radio lib or cons., there is always some angry black man screaming about reparations. If you have never heard that before then I apologize, I thought you were better informed. |

i gotta say that i know a hell of a lot of black folks (like half my extended family) and i've never heard even one of them whine about slavery. i've frequently heard some angry statements about the discrimination & prejudice they experience today, but not about slavery. The only times i've heard any one of them refer to reparations, it was always jokingly. Like, "Sure, and i'm still waiting for my 40 acres and a mule."
When i lived in Pittsburgh i ran into a couple of Nation of Islam folks who ranted on about reparations for slavery, but the black folks i was with always said they were nuts.
i have heard a friend respond to the accusation that black people are lazy by saying "Yeah, except for that 300 years of free labor."
i listen to liberal/progressive talk radio fairly regularly (at least four or five times a week) & can't recall ever hearing a rant from a caller talking about reparations. Except for a few right-wing callers claiming that black people want reparations, that is.
That's just what i've witnessed. YMMV

They call almost daily and they are always yaking about what white men have done to their forefathers and until America makes reparations this country will never be right with the Black man. All the time everyday no matter what he subject is. If the topic was ice cream and someone said vanilla was their favorite flavor one of them will call and go off! |

Don't know of them either. If I was black and lived in Western PA, I'd be asking for reparations daily too. Only place I've ever been in my life, and I've been around, where I still hear white folks refer to black folks with the n word.

dazes, ever since M.L.K. was killed, the blacks have been using that "slavery" excuse for every one of their wrong doings...Instead of attempting to make a better life for themselves, they have been re-enslaved by the DUMBO CRAP PARTY by providing one "freebie" after another causing GENERATIONAL WELFARE.....and the blacks are trapped...
