Don't worry, I'll come back to earth. Weeks 2-4 are equally unpredictable in my opinion. Its not til week 5 that it gets consistent.

Looks like this season may the season of "war of words". Bettis and Ben, Mangini, Jets, Goodall, and Favre, Chicago and Denver Quarter back stuff, probably Eagles and their Army of QB's, and some more along the way as some fall and others succeed. Gonna be a lot of tv games that really suck this year for the average non-betting, non fantasy viewer

Kind of like the Health care plan, everyone wants to jump in on it, but no one knows what it is, just make chit up.

So you're telling me that there are people out there who watch the NFL, but don't bet on the games?!!!???

I have never bet on a football game... I don't even get into fantasy leagues anymore... it's like smoking crack... Checking every game... not for the team, but for individual players... it's maddening Smile

I'm that guy who does all of it. I'm the commissioner of a $100 per team, 10 team fantasy league. And I do an NFL pickem (against the spread) thats $50 per person.

But you're absolutely right. There is an oversaturation of NFL analysis. They're chalked full of cliches read off a telestrator by men with shrunken testicles. Gotta love Merril Hoge though... he's very informative and the best at breaking down game film.

Amen, found when I would bet on the "squares" ,Buck a square, at work, 100 buck pot, I would be cheering for my score to win and the game meant zilch and I quit.

that was a long time ago and now I won't even enter the news paper contests.

I don't know what a junkie feels like , but if its as bad as a cigerette, then its bad.

It feels like you just want to jump out a window to get what you want. I get that way without interwebz for more than 24 hours.

ha, what is interwebz? that it does that to you?

Aside for a minute, any one remember a few weeks ago Steve Blass(pirate announcer) had 2 holes in one in the same round here?

Well a 64 year old woman in Enland did the same thing:

Retired 64-year-old shoots 2 holes-in-oneAssociated Press

Updated: September 18, 2009, 4:53 PM EDT 10 comments
WHITLEY BAY, England (AP) - Ruth Day, a 64-year-old retired widow from northern England, had the day of her life on the golf course last week.

Day managed to shoot two holes-in-one in the same round at Whitley Bay Golf Club, where she is a member.

"A hole in one in itself is usually pretty amazing," Day said in Friday's edition of The Journal, a local newspaper in northeast England. "But I couldn't believe it when I did the same thing 10 holes further on."

Day carded her first ace on the 149-yard third hole last Wednesday. Day, who has a handicap of 35, added the second on the 161-yard 13th.

"The first time it happened, my friend was the one saying 'It's going in. It's going in,' but I was relatively ambivalent," Day said. "Then the lads in front put their thumbs up to say it had gone in. I was pleased because it was my first hole in one.

"It was the second one that was really amazing because it was a more difficult hole. We saw it turn and then we went searching for it round the back to see where it was. We couldn't find it, and after a while we found it - in the hole."

Day said she has been playing golf for about 10 years, but had never before had a hole-in-one.

"Some people go through their whole life and never get a hole in one," Day said. "I think there's only a very small number of people around the world who have done it twice in one round."
