I set up my laptop and worked from 6:30 last night until 10:30... When I packed it in and went to bed, my wife said "goodnight. Did you bring the tree down?"

So I know that we're supposed to be thankful and I have many things to be thankful for, but I have a rant...
Today we're supposed to be working only half a day at the office. The owner asked us to come in 30 minutes earlier today and now he's saying that we're not going home until 2pm...If we're working 6 hrs w/o a lunch break, how's that a half day? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that we get to go home earlier, but don't call it a half day!

Dear Ondi, Although you feel a tad slighted about the change in the work schedule, there are worse things in life. You have a job give thanks for that.
You have a good sense of humor, give thanks for that..
Now combine the two and humor the boss to let you off early.
Also, six hours is as long as you can work with out a lunch break, after that you either take a lunch or they must pay you for lunch. |

I know, Bus...Especially this year, I'm thankful that both my husband and I have jobs...I'm just disappointed bc I thought we were going home around noon...But I'll get over it once I'm outta here!!!

I, too, was told I could leave after half a day, which would be 11:30. However, I'm in the middle of something that has to be done today because of the holiday. So it'll be more like 2:00 also.

I'm dressed down at least (jeans!). I plan on doing some "spring" cleaning whilst awaiting responses to finish my project. But, yeah, it's slow here too.

Chances are, they will spring a half day on us 10 minutes before the time they say we can leave... at which point, I will have started something that takes a couple of hours... and be the last one to leave... AGAIN
I'm dressed like a homeless person like normal... I love the fact that I rarely have to wear "big boy clothes."

Since we're not getting a lunch break, my boss said he's buying lunch for all of us!!! We just have to eat at our desks...Hey, it's a free meal!
