My rant for today: stupid people. Where do they come from? Why are there so many of them? Why won't they go away? That is all. A semi-complete list of stupid people:

Neocons
Fundamentalists
Radical Islamists
About 80% of the world in general
More specifically, about 90% of the US population
Conservative pundits
Liberal pundits
People who claim to be independent but are really indecisive
Many bloggers (all present company excluded)
Everyone on the internet who doesn't have at least a GED
People who get pregnant by accident
The majority of petty criminals
Environmentalists who can't let go of global warming
Nancy Pelosi
Karl Rove and anyone he is friends with
Writers of reality tv programs
People that go on reality tv programs
People that work at the DMV
People that walk down the sidewalk in large groups and won't move out of my way
Everyone in a car but me
Everyone in the grocery store but me

Everyone in Detroit
US Automakers
Anyone who gave a loan to someone who couldn't pay it
Anyone who took a loan they couldn't pay
People who are aware that they have credit card debt and continue to buy on credit

Generally anyone who formulates and then strongly expresses an opinion about something without any actual understanding of the subject of their opinion
Michael Moore, sometimes
People who think health insurance in this company is fine
People who are convinced the government is corrupt
People who are convinced the government is pure
Fascists
Communists
Anarchists
Populists
Racists
Sexists
Homophobes
People who hate Muslims because they are Muslim
Teachers who are bad at their jobs and know it
And finally, anyone who ever physically or emotionally injures a child

The fact that all these groups exist and in such great numbers is why I am an atheist.

Tax all needlessly stupid people - THAT would likely solve our economic woes overnight!

Your list is spot on except for one category that i would add:
Drivers who habitually yield their right of way.

I had a woman do that the other day. I even tried to wave her on, but she insisted that I go first, even though she clearly had the right of way. Those are the people who cause wrecks, and I think the real problem is that some of the boobs don't even know who has the right of way. Grrrrrr.

Exactly Brant. This morning i was in a line of southbound traffic turning east onto a four lane boulevard. The traffic signal was displaying a left turn arrow for our lane. Suddenly the lead car stopped just after clearing the intersection, leaving several cars (including mine) stranded crosswise in the intersection. Why did the lead car stop? To allow a car sitting at a yield sign waiting to turn east from the northbound lane to pull into traffic ahead of him. Meanwhile the light changed while i and four other vehicles were sitting sideways across oncoming traffic lanes. Thank God no accident occurred.

i hate stupid drivers like that.

This reminds me of another one. I hate it when you are driving down the road and a pedestrian wants to cross, so they step out into the road just far enough to be in your lane, and then stop to see if you are going to let them cross or not. Look, if you want to cross, then cross. You have the right away. But if you don't think I'm paying enough attention to stop for you, THEN WHY ARE YOU STANDING STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ****ING ROAD?! The irritating part to me is if they had just crossed, we'd all be on our way. But no, now I have to come to a stop while you stare me down with that "is he or isn't he" deer in headlights glare. There is simply no end to my irritation.

Well, while we're on transportation issues, I'd like to lodge a complaint against the horse's asses who park their cars along a busy street and then blindly throw up their car doors to exit the vehicle. And they'll just as blithely fling open the door to get back in the car, seemingly oblivious to the cars that are passing them. It used to be that people would look in their rear-views before getting out of their vehicles, but now they act as if everyone should come to a dead halt while they emerge.

My rant of the day/week/month/decade! We moved into this building about six years ago and received a new phone number. Apparently the phone number used to owned by deadbeat bill dodgers. On a bi-weekly basis I get a phone call from a bill collector of some sort or other trying to track them down. Evil or Very Mad

And I'm being told the people are still using this number as their own on new applications. Through my connections Cool

I was able to attain a current number and I freely supply this to the appreciative collector. But after six years, I'm a little tired of it.

I have a weird one today but this really pisses me off for reason I can't explain. People who think socialism and facism are the same thing or that one leads to the other. Get an education. The two are opposing ideals. Socialism advocates economic federalization and social freedom. Fascism advocates social authoritarianism and economic unification of the government and the economy. Economically, socialism simply aims to regulate the economy while fascism absorbs the economy. Politically, socialism can be applied to any type of government system including democracy whereas Fascism is totalitarian. Besides a passing resemblance in economic styles that could only be mistaken by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about, the two have nothing in common.

Thats a good rant. Especially because those who use these terms act like they're worldly experts on all subjects.

While I'm on this thread... I would just like to say that it p*sses me off when people who play Guitar Hero think that there is some correlation to actually playing the guitar. Just because you have the high score on the expert level of Metallica's "One", doesn't mean that you can play "Mary had a Little Lamb" on a real guitar.

Ever notice those thin slices in the road as you approach a traffic light? If so, place your vehicle on those markings SO THE DAM LIGHT CHANGES!!
I am sooo sick and tired of stupid people who will not stop on them. They sit ten feet back from them. WHY????

Do you have a picture of this thing you speak of? I thought that the little white orbs on the line holding the stop light sensed that there was a car there... I didn't know it was embedded in the road!

Can't find a picture of it. When you see the thin outline of a rectangle just before the white line at an intersection, that's the weight plate. I've accidentally gone too far past them before on roads where I was the only person there and then sat wondering why my light never cycled for a while before realizing I was past the plate. Never seen anyone stop before it though.

Today's rant. Don't you just hate it when you're drinking a milkshake and you get about half way through and it freezes up. Then when you suck through the straw, all you do is drain that little channel of milkshake and you have to either keep moving the straw or shake the cup up every 30 seconds? When is someone going to invent a milkshake you can actually drink to the bottom?!
