|
|
Remember the part in the ObamaCare pitch when they said if you like your current healthcare, it won't change?
Turns out it might.
Companies are already announcing that their healthcare premium costs are going through the roof. Some are responding by firing people. Some are cutting benefits. And some are presumably eating it.
But costs they are a-rising.
A few examples from the WSJ:
-- Caterpillar said it would cost the company at least $100 million more in the first year alone.
-- Medical device maker Medtronic warned that new taxes on its products could force it to lay off a thousand workers.
-- Verizon announced to employees that it will likely have to cut healthcare benefits to offset the new costs.
So, people who like your employer-provided health insurance, get ready to pay more or get less.

This is exactly why we need single payer. There is no reason for health insurance companies to raise their premiums. They are doing it because they can. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Then AT&T was not providing for it's employees beforehand. And I'm sorry... but ok, they will take a 1 billion dollar hit... last year, ATT gross profit was 72.6 Billion dollars... net income was 12 billion... So they'll see 1 billion out of their above the line charges, which will impact their bottom line by less than 1 billion... Boo-freakin-hoo _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Well, I don't know why there are those (except those there are)who assumed it it would be yet another Entitlement Program.
Getting health Care passed was the objective of this great Administration, --DONE
It was like a few poor folk who thought getting into Disney Land was the objective, and thought once in, everything was free. Tell that to the ticket taker on Space Mountain
This Link below will be up and running very soon ;

No one knows what this means do you?
in a round about way, this vat (basically a National Sales Tax)was going to be what replaced income tax, now it will feed health car providers and the income tax is is only going to get higher, not so much for the working class, (but don't think that any of you will be excluded, you won't even see where you the hike hit you unless you know where to look and can remember last years Tax Tables).
Or try the Disneyland approach. maybe one day you will get a free ride |

AT&T provides good benifits and perscription plands to its employees. They will be losing a tax deduction for providing those benifits amounting to one billion dollars. That puts the 5 insurance firms and thier 12 billion profit in perspective. That one billion loss to AT&T is money not available for employee pay or benifits. Expect cut backs in employees, benifits and an increase in phone rates. |
