Include common courtesy too after what I saw today.
I was driving on Pike Street in Houston before the 519 crossing when a senior citizen and his senior wife were attempting to enter Pike Street West from the old National City Bank (1st Niagra now?).
A red pick-up was in the left turn lane to turn on to 519. I was a bit behind and just let the senior turn left although there were no traffic issues on Pike Street.
This ill mannered old fart pulled along the red pick up who was turning left(old fart was going straight) blew his horn, wound his window down , and he and Mrs. Fart gave him the finger. The guy in the red truck did nothing wrong, they were not on the road, still on the bank's property and no on coming traffic even in sight .

These people should also be charged $250.00 for the retest. The retest for DUI must be completed before you get your license restored. |

The problem I have with retesting for DUI is that it really serves no purpose. These people will be sober (at least if they have any sense) when they retest. The problem that caused them to drive poorly won't be present any longer. The same with speeders and aggressive drivers. They aren't going to speed or drive aggressively when taking a retest. But the elderly who are no longer physically or mentally able to handle driving would not be able to modify their actions. Their shortcomings would be clear in a retest, and somebody's life might be saved. _________________
