MUMBAI, India — In the last 10 months, India has raised $3.5 billion selling off pieces of state-run companies, more than such sales brought in during the previous four years.

Overburdened with debt, New Delhi desperately needs the cash, in part to finance development projects like roads, schools and hospitals that may help sustain the country’s impressive growth. But there are serious doubts about whether India can maintain the trend, or accelerate it, as economists have urged.

Political parties, including some partners in the ruling coalition government, and unions representing workers at state-owned operations, oppose selling shares in public companies, not to mention outright privatization.

Or maybe he's taking us to these "more successful" socialist countries are.......

................................................

DUBLIN (AP) -- To keep its debt crisis from mushrooming out of control, the European Union is imposing harsh cutbacks on millions of ordinary people in debt-plagued countries like Greece, Ireland and Portugal.

But some economists think cutbacks right now are a mistake that might tip Europe into a dreaded double-dip recession.

How, skeptics ask, will Europe's barely-there recovery withstand the loss of stimulus from sudden, steep austerity measures demanded by the EU? So far the pain includes cutbacks and freezes in teachers' and nurses' salaries, higher retirement ages and heavier taxes on everything from incomes to cigarettes and fuel.

Europe is barely expanding, with only 0.1 percent growth in the fourth quarter in the 16 countries that use the euro, leaving a renewed slide into recession impossible to rule out. And the recession is still on in several countries facing the cuts such as Greece, Ireland and Spain.

Or maybe he's taking us here:

..........................................................

Greece set off the crisis rattling the euro zone. Spain could determine whether the 16-nation currency stands or falls.

The euro zone's No. 4 economy, Spain has an unemployment rate of 19%, a deflating housing bubble, big debts and a gaping budget deficit. Its gross domestic product contracted 3.6% in 2009 and is expected to shrink again this year, leaving Spain in its deepest and longest recession in a half-century.

At the center of the crisis are millions of Spaniards like Olga Espejo. The 41-year-old lost her administrative job at a laboratory in Madrid, then found a temporary post replacing someone on sick leave -- until that job was abolished. Her husband and her sister have also been laid off -- all among the one in nine working Spaniards who have lost jobs in the past two years.

Each gets an unemployment check of at least €1,000 a month, or about $1,350, part of a generous social safety net that Madrid says it won't cut. But Ms. Espejo's benefit runs out in July and her husband's in May

You know dam well phony, President Obama doesn't have a thing to do with these problems of the world you just posted in front. This mess was all part and parcel of the Bush Administration and their allowing the financial mess to go unabated since 2002 until the complete collapse in 2006 and 2007 where it had no other way to fall but down.

What I will give you is that with all of the bailouts and tarps, whatever, only replenished that money that vaporized and is now being used to restart the very things that caused it to collapse.

Without any regulation and tighter controls, it has nothing to stop it from repeating itself. This Administration must act now with or without Congressional approval because if it doesn't, God help us all. These people have no intentions whatever to helping the economy, only creating more wealth for themselves in bonuses, and trading with each other to increase the value of their worthless paper and destroying the very economies of the countries you name.
