So somebody tried to fedex me a package and naturally, they only come when people are at work and thus couldn't possibly sign for a package. Two days in a row I am not available, and thats it; I get the phone call, "We're not going to deliver your package to you because you are inconveniencing us. Please come pick it up at our store house during YOUR work hours. Oh, and its an hour away from you. Thanks." I have until the beginning of next week. Well, whatever it is, I'm not going to get it. I hope it was nice though. Why does anyone put up with this company's chit? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Did I ever mention the $600 part that was "delivered" by FedEx at the top of my 1/4 mile long driveway (apparently it didn't need a signature) and sat there all night since we had all come home for the evening? Luckily no one else noticed it and it was still there in the morning. _________________ -amom

The funny part is my wife actually stayed home all day today; so when they called and said they tried to deliver it again, they were lying. She was there. They were just too lazy to try again.
Oh, and on the second phone call, they corrected their previous mistake: I have until Friday COB to pick it up. In other words, its impossible. Even if I wanted to put myself out and do their delivery job for them, I can't. I seriously don't understand how this company remains in business with customer service like this. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Sadly, UPS isn't much better! We have so many problems with them at work! A couple of weeks ago, UPS left a 42" and another box with a PS3, video games, a camera, a monitor, at our customer's front door. The driver said that he asked the neighbor and he said it was ok to leave it there. Of course, the TV and the box were stolen (probably by the neighbor). We always insure our packages, but it's still a pain in the butt. Our customer had to get a police report for them to pay us, I had to make a bunch of phone calls...This happens ALL the time! Many times our customers have been home and UPS has said that there was no one home...It is really frustrating! _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. Phone conversation:
Fedex: "The package will returned to sender because you failed to receive it after two tries."
Me: "The slip you left the first time says you will try three times."
Fedex: "Yeah, we're not coming back."
Me: "Uh..what do you mean?"
Fedex: "Two times was enough. You can pick it up here."
Me: "Sons of bitches!"
That's basically verbatim. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

FedEx calls and says, "K, we're sending it back now." Me, "Well, what if I wanted to come pick it up this afternoon?" Them, "too late."
Well, I appreciated the sentiment. Maybe one day they'll invent a private shipping company that actual does its job. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Do you know who the original sender was? If so, do they know how idiotic FedEx has been? What a story. Great customer service. _________________ -amom

Yeah, I don't know. I asked if I could pick it up today and they were about ready to hold it for me, but due to the accident I only have one car right now. They would have held off but how am I supposed to get out there before they close? I have a performance review today at work. Its not like I can just disappear for a 2 hour lunch break on a whim. You know, if they just had a FedEx place closer than Robinson, I could maybe do it...I just told them not to even wait any longer because there was no way for me to get it anyway. By all rights I should demand they go to my house exactly when I tell them to since they didn't even knock or leave a note the second time they came and skipped the third time altogether, but I've tried that before and it gets you nowhere. FedEx treats their shippers fairly well which is why they keep getting business; they treat their recipients like dogchit. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Yeah, I determined that its an Xmas gift from my dad. That's a whole different frustrating story, suffice it to say the gift, while generous, is something I can't use: tickets to a football game in DC Christmas weekend. I'm already tied into plans that weekend, and even if I wasn't the chances of getting down there and back in time for work through a Pittsburgh winter are slim. He told me that if I couldn't use them I should sell them, which I would consider if I could effing get them. Anyway, he's probably going to flip out when he gets them back and accuse me of some crazy shenanigans. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Maybe you should warn "Wesley" that the tickets are getting sent back by FedEx so that he doesn't flip out!
You're right...FedEx & UPS treat recipients like dog doodie. He'll figure it out. Warning him won't prevent the flip out, just bring it on sooner. This is sort of why I don't talk to him anymore. Its very hard for him to understand that if something he tries to do involving me doesn't work out, its not automatically due to my malicious intent. Although he seems to have bad luck...but maybe he won't use FedEx anymore. USPS has a perfectly adequate signature-required and insurance system and the post office is within walking distance of my house. And they don't refuse to hold your chit just because you can't get to it in 48 hours. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! "Wesley" sounds a lot like my stepmom. At work, we usually don't have problems with USPS... My wife sent him a quick email to let him know we appreciated the offer, so hopefully he won't have any hard feelings. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
