I don't generally go to the doctor, but I know I've felt like hammered poop for the past three days. Had a fever of 101 at one point. Could be pig flu, could be regular flu, could be some other sort of upper-respiratory infection. _________________

One co-worker has it, another co-worker's kid's friend has it. That's the closest its gotten to me yet. I'll probably have it by next week at this rate. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

My boss and his daughter were diagnosed. My hubby and I were sick for two weeks. We're still not feeling 100%. We didn't go to the doctor, but we think it may have been the swine flu. _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. I feel great and don't "personally" know anyone that has it... I "know of" people that have it... but not people that I really actually know.
That said, I could use a good bout of flu to get over this 7 week weight loss speed bump _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I hope you don't get it, Cy! If I do get it, I'd rather just go ahead and get it out of the way now. I'm at a good place at work where I won't fall behind if I lose a week or so. But of course I'm holding out for somehow avoiding it altogether! _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

My wife is freakin the eff out about this whole H1N1 chit. Especially earlier this week, when we heard that a twenty-something woman died who gave birth just a few days before.
She says that she's even losing sleep over it. She doesn't want to get sick (obviously), but she doesn't want to be part of a group of mothers whose children have some sort of defect due to getting an untested vaccination. _________________

Oh no! Here's a good article on avoiding the H1N1 virus:

Nearly 300 people have died of the swine flu in this country since Sept. 1. It's an epidemic, and a large number of those dying are young people. I don't think anyone is blowing anything out of proportion. _________________

The guy is right that wearing the mask to keep yourself from getting the disease may be a waste of time, but people who go out in public and are sick should be the ones wearing masks. When you see people in China on the news wearing masks, it is just as often the sick people trying not to be contagious as it is the healthy ones. Typical American selfishness on display. We see the masks and immediately presume they are for self-preservation. They should be telling people who are already sick to wear them for everyone else's sake! _________________ The end is nigh! About a dozen of my friends have come down with the flu. Four of them have been confirmed as having H1N1. Our household has been spared thus far, knock on wood. Our local newspaper reported today that supplies of the regular seasonal flu vaccine in our state are starting to dwindle due to increased demand and may run out in November. Glad Wes & i both got our flu shots already. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Just last week,
My seven year old daughter got it, then her three year old step-
brother...The mom she lives with, in West Virginia, who has studied viral
pathology, quarantined the house, and alerted everyone my daughter
had been around...Both children were given something called
Tami-flu, and all are doing well... _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |
