The results of the story don't surprise me at all. The little bit of editorialism at the end is sophomoric at best. If the writer really wanted to prove his hypothesis, he would have asked how many people watch Fox News for laughs, and he would have gotten nearly 100% of the liberals and probably at least half of the conservatives. That he could not post results to prove his hypothesis when he had otherwise statistically relevant numbers at his fingertips proves that his conclusion is nothing more than a conservative wet dream.

They say that 46 percent of Fox's viewership is Democrat or independent. I'm guessing that the vast majority of that 46 percent represents independents, and a large percentage of those independents are actually teabagger types who are really Republicans but think there's some cachet to saying they're independent. And as someone noted earlier, if Democrats are watching, it's solely for the humor factor.

Its like watching sasquatch give Burt Reynolds a reach around. If it comes on, you are going to watch out of shear morbid curiosity, but it doesn't mean you agree with hairy beasts giving each other reach arounds.
I'm sorry, I was trying to come up with an analogy that was equally as offensive as Fox News, but I feel I may have fallen short.
