Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Wow, stirred up a hornet's nest! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

And i'm supposed to be the angry one? Laughing Dazes, if nothing else, you're certainly good for a laugh! Wink

The exchanges that go on while i'm away at choir practice. Shocked

Maybe if i'm really bored tomorrow and have absolutely nothing better to do i'll go back through our mutual posts just to confirm which one of us started the insults. Just for chits & giggles, like. Wink

Ondi, once again, welcome to our happy little corner of the 'net. Cool

They are not proposing to reform health care, just the cost of health insurance. If they freeze the cost of insurance and health care cost continue in increase at twice the rate of inflation then no one will have health insurance.

Good. Then health insurance companies will go out of business and the world will be a better place.

Thats what I said last week. We can all just pay out of pocket. The dems can't subidize everyone, the counrty will go broke or we will all pay 50% income tax. The tax rate will stiffle industry ( whats left) since that money is taken out of circulation.

And I said that the tax rate to pay for government subsidized health care would be lower than the cost of monthly premiums for private health care for 90% of the population. Which is true.

Well then, it's a good thing no one's talking about subsidizing everyone. Assuming a public option passes, the vast majority of participants aren't expected to need subsidies and will instead be paying premiums for their own coverage. At least that's how the option has been laid out in the reform versions under consideration.

What if doctors and or hospitals won't accept the government option because its reimbursment is too low. With ever rising health care cost some doctors are not accepting medicaid patients because their insurance don't cover the cost.

Look at the subsidies. A family of 4 making $63,000 (gross) must pay $7,770 annual premium. Faced with fine if they don't pay, this will push many into foreclosure and bankruptcy.

That would be why they're looking at increasing the reimbursements.

What about the government subsidies that private insurers are receiving? Just look at Medicare Advantage -
Quote:
To explain: Medicare Advantage plans allow insurance companies to offer coverage to seniors that replaces their original Medicare coverage. These companies receive federal subsidies to do so. The expansion of these private programs was the brainchild of the 2003 Congress that "reformed" Medicare with an eye to expanding the role of the private sector in the program. Lawmakers handed over the drug benefit to private providers and set up a system to pay billions in subsidies to insurance companies offering the Medicare Advantage plans.

The thinking was competition in the marketplace would drive down costs. Taxpayers have been taken to the cleaners. In fact, these plans cost taxpayers as much as 12 percent more than covering a senior in traditional Medicare, according to government studies.

There are numerous "What ifs" and risks involved in the healthcare bill.

Did we say "What if..." when we stormed Normandy?

Did we say "What if..." when we went to the moon?

Quit being a p**sy George. The time is now!

Awwwww...Still upset that I'm not a conservative, BB? Like I said before, if I was brainwashed, I'd be a Republican bc I have lived in the South most of my life...Just bc I don't agree with you and call you out on your BS doesn't mean I'm a troublemaker...I'm actually a very bubbly, happy, friendly person! I'm getting along with most people here!!!!

I could actually say the same thing. I am a very upbeat person in what is real life. Kids at school know I am the one to come to if something is wrong at home or at school. I have kids that are in high school that still Email me to talk things over.Stories that break your heart sometime and you just listen and comfort. One thing that the kids always know about me though don't try to get one over on me, because I will call you out. They know that if they tell me the truth there may be consequences, but they have earned my respect.
