Actually, no i haven't BD. That's why i'm asking. i've mostly worked on the management side of companies, and i've had numerous dealings with managers who've worked with unionized companies.

Let's just say, in some cases it is easier to deal with a Mafia enforcer.(imagine yourself surrounded by ,basically, a half dozen or more thugs handing you a card and and an ink pen.) If you have an election by secret ballot conducted by the NLRB, then you will know if a union is really wanted, and that is the only way it must be conducted.

As I said before, a Union was the best thing ever for the working man.
Union Leaders (some) are the worst thing for the working man.

I may have told this before, we had a vote a few years back, to authorize a strike with the district. The reason given were the same as the reasons given by the teachers union today, a $5. raise of our copay. After a rousing speech about solidarity and "sticking it to the district" they asked us to come up to the table as we were leaving to vote. They were calling out the vote as you made it to the union secretary, who was tabulating the vote. I know many who voiced their opposition to a strike, but were intimidated to cast an essentially open ballot and just voted yes. I on the other hand checked my ballot No and as the steward looked on I called out to the secretary that's one NO! My days off cowering in a corner are over, if we weren't in this union,SEIU, and they came around and tried to get us to join I would tell them to stick it! My friend was laughing at me afterwards saying if I didn't show up for work on Monday, she'd tell them to drag the Ohio River for my body!

As an employee of a company with only 26 employees... I really don't understand the whole thing with unionization... If we have a problem, we just walk down the hall and say "hey, what the dillio?"

I have never been pro union. I just think that if you aren't happy find another job. Safety issues are one thing, but lawyers will handle that now. When you accept a job you know what you are getting into, coming back in three years and wanting to change the rules or terms, seems a little like blackmail to me.
