I've heard before that Pennsylvania has more small towns dotting the state than any other state in the country. I was watching Channel 11 news this morning, and when they put up a weather map, there are all these towns on it with strange names. A couple of the odd ones today were Slabtown and Muff. I was amused, but I'm easily amused. Oh, by the way, if you male members of the forum need a little pick-me-up in the A.M., I would suggest WPXI traffic reporter Trisha Pittman. _________________

There is a shortcut from Slippery Rock to Clarion where you pass thru Frogtown. I would always joke that I was going to move there.
Not small towns, but I always thought the name Beaver Falls was a little sexually explicit... and Mars is outta this world. |

When I was a kid, before the interstates were built, we used to travel back roads to Cook Forest, and we passed through a town named Dime. For some reason, we kids thought that was a highlight of the trip. _________________

How did I forget Intercourse?! That is what my brain was searching for when I said Beaver Falls.
And Brant, thank you for saying Cook Forest and not Cook's Forest like most people do. For some reason, I get upset about that. That could be added to the other thread in the Off Topic section. |
