That's what happens. However, the problem of the welfare baby makers is on society, not those individuals. We have a responsibility to provide adequate sexual education and contraception to them so that they do not become our burden. An expecting them to simply not have sex is unrealistic. |
The welfare baby makers will keep on having kids as long as we continue to support them. I am all for ending welfare today. I bet they quit having kids .....oops.... they.ll just switch to SSI. My bad _________________ George |

I would make the argument that we aren't supporting them now. A blank check is not support. Education, medical coverage, and necessities at low or no cost is support. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

As long as there's no cost its support. It the parents responsibility to provide the necessities, and med cost. Schools are free now but many families still don't value education. Many kids still graduate from Wash High and have successful carers, many don't graduate. Its not the schools fault if you don't learn while others do. _________________ George |

I don't know. I don't think it should necessarily be about finding who is at fault, but about solving the problem. I don't feel like we've gone about solving the problem the right way yet. Nobody wants there to be an uneducated lower class, but its really a little unfair to expect them to pull themselves up when the tools to do so are not available to them. If we're really interesting in eliminating the lower class, we have to recognize that that means we will need to chip in, and not just monetarily. I'd see programs for them extended even more if I thought it was going to reduce the lower class substantially. With the right programs, it could. _________________ The end is nigh! How is "class" determined, Cy? or what determines "class" Cy?
Cylinsier"] Income and education would be the two major factors, but other things play into it as well. Quote: |
Income for just about every American,Cy, from where is this "income" derived?

Did you just ask what "education" is? That explains a lot. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Well, I wasn't fortunate as you, no LIBCHIT "government giveaways" existed for education.....
So, I enlisted into the service, and received an excellent education on life experience...... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

Nope. Some money from generous family members, FAFSA paperwork and working for the university got me through school. I still have plenty of loans to finish off. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

There will always be a lower class. You can't get rid of it no matter how hard you try. Some people just don't care enough or are not motivated enough to move up. They are happy where they are even though they may complain. Money is still how we keep score. How much is enough? Let me quote John Rockefeller "just a littel bit more". _________________ George |
