With the exception of 9/11, Congress has always been terrible in approval ratings. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

It has been lower a few times. Once during the early 90's and once in the 70's it was below 20. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

And yet... the re-election rate is what... 90%?
It's a matter of a legislative body having 533 people that I didn't vote for... _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Yeah, I think if you could measure just approval ratings based on asking each person what they think of their own Senator and Reps, you would see ratings in the 60, 70, or even 80 ranges. _________________ The end is nigh! Let's not forget that almost half of the Congressmen are Republican...So the low approval ratings reflect badly on BOTH parties! _________________ "If by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties ... if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I’m proud to say I’m a 'Liberal.'" ~ Senator John F. You know, Phony, you don't have to always comment. If you don't have anything relevant to say, you can keep it to yourself, Mr. Alzheimer.
