Cy, I don't think Me and Thee, can be mistranslated, even by the poorest of Jewish scribes. And if you don't think the world is a more peaceful place than it was in 1 B.C..........Think again.
I maintain my interpretation that the Torah quotes God as saying that he will bring a prophet, like Himself, and that everyone better listen.
I also seem to remember God saying something about putting words in the real prophet's mouth, and there was something else i don't recall, about God killing false prophets.
And then Jesus died. Oh well, back where we started from.
Almost 10 pages. Almost 1000 views. And no more certainty than there was before. Gotta run _________________ where-ever you get it - there you have it. - Anon. |

God is saying that this prophet will be a man like any other. The Jewish name for Jesus is Yeshua, by the way, but again the Jews recognize that Jesus existed, probably as a rabbi, just not that he was the son of god or that he ever claimed to be. Its not just so much that they didn't mention his name before he was born as they didn't predict the coming of the messiah before he was born. Strictly speaking, the modern interpretation is that a messianic age will be ushered in, but that the person that does so will just be a normal human being. And this is the biggest reason why Jews say Jesus was not the son of god; we had no messianic age. The "second coming" aspect is entirely fabricated by Christianity. |
So would that mean that God has also evolved if man was created in His image?

Bus, I think that Brantski's ancesters came from that first one in line.

I don't know. People who believe in god don't always believe in evolution. I suppose if you believe god created us in his image, you would have to ignore evolution or explain it away somehow. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Evolution is legitimate....it's an ongoing process......"THE BIG BANG THEORY" is not believable..... _________________ Exposing the secular humanist liberal "progressives". |

See Cy, that is what I mean when I say religion is confusing, even those who prescribe to the teachings or were involved in the writings choose to ignore these questions.
I will still follow Ondi's thinking and admit that I simply don't know all of the answers . |

I'll stick with my gut and believe what can be proven with science. The rest is just an interesting story. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
