It's fine for an individual to be an atheist.....but to be an atheist pig is another story.....you can proclaim to the world that you do not believe in God, or any Higher Being, but to ridicule the ones who do proves your sickness.....

Which are you: An atheist, or an atheist pig?

Good people don't ridicule other people because of their believe in God.....you are guilty by association.

They don't ridicule Amphy, Free, Bus or me for believing in God. You guys get ridiculed for being judgemental pricks. It has nothing to do with your belief in God.

Been going to my local temple to take some classes on Judaism over the last couple weeks. I really like. Jews are like Christians with a sense of logic. And while they view spirituality as important, they don't make it the center of their purpose. In fact, it would be very easy to be spirtually Jewish and still be agnostic. They almost encourage it. That's what I like about Judaism. Christianity says believe blindly or you will burn in hell. Judaism says always question your faith. For Jews, its more about being a good person than believing in a big man in the sky.

Clamp it, Phony. The atheists and agnostics and whatever on this forum, are friendly, intelligent, and entertaining. They express their opinions here for free, and they submit apologies and also accept them easily. They are your friends, as well as mine. If you're searching for an "Atheist Pig", it's BBN. He's making money promoting an intolerance that he doesn't believe.
I hope he comes back soon, so we can hear him sloshing in the mud and hear him squeal some more

I think that depends on what kind of Jew you are. There are Jewish sects that are as extreme as Christian fundies. I think that all extremes are bad. As long as you keep it personal, all religions are good.

There may be pockets of Jews like that, but the overall faith is very different. Even the most conservative Jews do not believe that you are condemned to hell for not believing. They believe that god is loving, and if he is truly loving then you will always have the opportunity to move on to a better world of sorts, even after dying as a non-believer. They also spend no time focusing on preparing yourself for being in god's presence. The entire focus of the religion is on being the best person you can be in the here and now.

Phony, I'd like you to provide an example from the forum of where somebody acted like an "atheist pig" in their treatment of you. As Ana said, we do not make fun of people exercising their religious beliefs, but only if they use their religion as a cover for hate and intolerance.

Brant, it doesn't have to be me as the victim of atheist pig ridicule.....Can't I defend Christianity, when you atheists attack the total sect????

come on, you're a smart feller, and know better than to put up a weak defense.....better to remain silent than to post that ridiculous statement.

I think that religions go through stages. The Jews were just as bad as Christians around Jesus' time. That's why Jesus tried to reform Judaism. In the Old Testament God is really horrible. Judaism has changed for the better over the years. Hopefully, Christianity will too. Also, I wouldn't judge all Christians by the ones here in the US. American Christians tend to be way more Conservative. For example, in Sweden & Norway there is no separation of Church & State, yet their laws are very liberal. Spain is one of the most Catholic countries in the world, yet gay marriage is legal.

Been over on Newsvine discussing whether it is right or wrong to walk away from a mortgage that is under deep water and missed Cy training to be a Jew?

How is that really going Cy?

Its fun. Not really training to be a Jew...I am genetically of Jewish descent. I'm not going to start going to temple, but its nice to get a little education about my heritage.

Don't confine it to yourself, Phony. Show me some evidence involving anyone on the forum who was ridiculed simply for being a Christian.

Atheist or otherwise, as a Christian i see everyone as a child of God. Even you, Phony. A blatantly and proudly errant one in my eyes, but still one nonetheless.
