Today at school we had National Children's Grief Day! We were asked to wear blue in honor of the event! No of us complied! Do we really need to have 7 year olds reminded that granny passed or that the dog was put to sleep?

No of us did either, yesterday the secretary announced it at the end of the day and said, "Tomorrow we will be celebrating{yes thats the word she used} National Children's grief Day, please wear blue". Now most of us thought she said Greek Day or Geek Day and we might have worn blue for those but Grief???? Something set up by the guidance office, but they said National. Luckily I had to get a root canal this afternoon and missed the festivities!

I'm with you guys on that one. They should just stick with the books and let parents handle things like grief and remembrance.
