Damn, I saw him get wacked and go off the ice last night. But it didn't occur to me that he never returned to play in the 3rd period.

Radio just said Gonchar is out 6 weeks with a broken wrist.

This might sound nuts, but that really worked out for the better when he missed the first part of the season last year, because he was fresh as a daisy come playoff time. It will certainly hurt in the short term, but maybe there's a payoff down the road.
