This just supports my contention that dog owners are better people than cat owners (on average): 
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Most pet owners would leap into action for an injured pet, even if it meant risking dog breath by going mouth-to-snout.
Fifty-eight percent of pet owners — 63 percent of dog owners and 53 percent of cat owners — would be at least somewhat likely to perform CPR on their pet in the event of a medical emergency, according to an Associated Press-Petside.com poll.

If my dogs were in need, I'd do it in a second. I'd think later about what dead animal or catbox "treat" they'd been gnawing on earlier in the day.

There was a thing on NPR this morning about health insurance for pets. They interviewed a woman who had had expensive surgery to remove cancer and later paid for anti-psychotic medication for her pet...hedgehog.

What if I'm a cat owner that also like dogs, but I just don't have the space for a dog?

After the cancer surgery, it wouldn't stop tearing at its stitches. They had to medicate it to get it to chill.

You're fine in my book, Ondi. It's the people who absolutely don't like dogs that I'm uneasy about. I don't think I could ever fully trust someone who dislikes dogs.

I don't trust people that don't like animals in general, like my stepmom!  I understand some people not wanting to own a pet, but how can someone hate all animals?
