I really like Bernese mountain dogs and labs, but I don't know if I'll ever have the space for big dogs like that. One of my friends in NYC used to tutor Robert Deniro's kids and he has Bernese mountain dogs. He gave her the info for his breeder, who now lives down here in GA and we went to meet her. Those dogs are gorgeous and have a great temperament! The puppies are so cute, they look like toys! I wanted one so bad!! Look how pretty they are:

Cy, the border collie is a great job, and as SSSS said, they're highly intelligent and very easy to train. He's also right about labs. They're very loyal and are very eager to please. Instead, I chose the "&^%$ you, I'll be doing what I want to do" member of the retriever family. He's extremely lovable and is the "cuddliest" dog I've every had (at 120 pounds, sheesh). And Ana, I also love the Bernese mountain dogs. The one concern I would have with them, in your locale, is their sensitivity to heat.

I see a dog like the Bernese and see a coat full of burrs! Even alab comes back covered with them, and his fur is short. I'd love a border collie or Bernese cause they are so pretty, but burrs!

Lucky for you, Phony doesn't venture out of National/International News... he has a miniature poodle... I think they wear matching rhinestone collars...

She's good. She had a cold for a while but we gave her medicine and she got better. Still has a bit of a sneeze but that's all. She had a major crush on the big cat but he can only put up with her necking and licking him for so long before he whacks her and runs away.
