In all fairness, a bunch of toyotas were just recalled for faulty floor mats...

I guess it had a high piling and some people put yet another carpet over that.Slipped up under the gas pedal as driver was riding along and when he went to the brake, pedal was still stuck down .

and boom.

best and probably only thing you can do if that happens is to turn the key OFF and push like hell on the brakes( remember, no power brakes/steering when the key is off)
also push the emergency brake.

They just need to do what Honda does. My Civic has little hooks that hold the floor mat in place, making it impossible for it to slide. Problem solved.

Or just slam on the brake and hold it... then guide it into a pole... how fast can a prius REALLY go with the brake pedal mashed down (even if the throttle is stuck in the floored position?)

I've never tried it in my truck... I'm afraid I'd break something

I'd put it in neutral, bring it to a stop, then kill the ignition.

If it is a Prius, can't you just pull the plug from the wall?

that is the best thing to do, those reading this, rememeber it

If for any reason the pedal gets stuck or car won't stop

neutral, brakes , key, stop.
