In McDonald, Pa., 30 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, fourth-grade students at Fort Cherry Elementary put Columbus on trial this year — charging him with misrepresenting the Spanish crown and thievery. They found him guilty and sentenced him to life in prison.

This is a perfect example of how our GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS have been usurped by leftwing wacko LIBCHITS. Since the wackos are now in control of the teachers' unions, a TOTAL REVISION OF HISTORY (ESPECIALLY U.S.A. HISTORY) has been put in place.

Could it be why our fearless "leader" Comrade Osama Obama has such a distaste for American culture, and now wants to play the game of being a EUROCRAT? He was educated in GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS, and went to LEFT-WING WACKO institutions of higher learning.....He's been totally brainwashed.

How do you figure this is a revision of history?

To a degree, ALL recorded history is revisionist. Those who have written it down couldn't help but be influenced by their socialization and the expectations of the cultures around them. The saying "history is written by the victors" didn't gain truism status for nothing.

History has always been written by the victors. So usually, it's their side of the story that we hear. It's a good thing for kids to be encouraged to investigate more and make their own conclusions.

I'm not sure if Columbus himself is to blame, since he actually died poor and dishonored.

But my dad is a Spaniard and he'll tell you that the Spaniards really messed up when colonizing America. They were especially brutal in the Caribbean bc the natives there were meek and defenseless. The Spaniards used to baptize the "Indians" before killing them so that they'd go to heaven. How effed up is that? They came, took their land, used them as slaves to dig up gold, and slept with their women. When the natives started dying bc of the diseases the Spaniards brought, the killings, and the abuse in general, they started bringing African slaves. The Spaniards were the pioneers in slavery. With the rest of Latin America, it was a little more difficult for the Spaniards bc the Incas, the Aztecs and many of the other natives were warriors, so they put up more resistance. At the end, the natives' weapons were no match for the European's rifles. Of course, the Spaniards said that it was divine intervention.

Amphy, if we're going to "revise" it, let's be factual.....AND ABOVE ALL ELSE, LET'S BE APOLITICAL.......

We don't need our kids subjected to LIBCHIT PROPOGANDA....

I wouldn't be so quick to blame the Spaniards for what is commonplace with conquerers......just ask the "losers" of any war....

You are correct, the spoils go to the victorious....except when it came to the U.S.A., we, as dumb azzes, gave the vanquished their countries back, only to see those same people stab us in the back.....

So bc it's commonplace, it makes it right? Do you always have to side with the bullies, Phony? You say that we are indoctrinated but you're always defending the status quo. That's being indoctrinated & brainwashed!

About the USA...I don't know if you realize that we weren't trying to conquer the countries that we've been at war with. In most cases, we said we were going in for the sake of democracy...And just off the top of my head, I can tell you that we took a bunch of land from Mexico and we never gave it back...

..........................

Ana, common sense......common sense....you even admitted that the victorious receive the spoils....

History, Ana, history.....TEXAS defeated Mexico, and took their land, and then asked to become part of the U.S.A.......we, as a country, did not take Texas from Mexico.

I think that you are smoking the same chit as Amphy......WE WERE ATTACKED BY JAPAN, THUS WE WENT TO WAR.....ONCE WE DECLARED WAR ON JAPAN, THEIR ALLIES DECLARED WAR ON US.....

Come on, you are making me ashamed since I complemented you as being an intelligent LIBCHIT.....now, you are morphing into a typical LIBCHIT....dumber than a "coal bucket".

You call me dumb whenever I call you on your BS!!!! Unlike you, I don't talk about things that I know nothing about!

I didn't say that the victorious receive the spoils...YOU said that. If you go back and read my post said that "History has always been written by the victors." Nothing to do with spoils...

I wasn't talking about Texas, Phony. Do you remember the Mexican–American War and the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo? That's how we took California, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, etc...from Mexico! We even sort of took Puerto Rico from Spain too...

On WWII we were attacked and of course their allies declared war on us. But most of the other times we've gone to war, like Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, it was in the name of democracy!!!!!

Don't try talking down to me, Phony...I've told you before that it's very unbecoming. No wonder you always side with the bullies!!!!

Semantics, but its impossible for 100% of the population to be poor. Poor is a comparative term meaning someone possesses considerably less than the mean value of both currency and goods. If everyone has the same, no one is poor and no one is rich. We're all middle class. Now, could being middle class be crappy? Yeah. But it could also be swell. Depends on other things.

McDonald, I don't think is 30 miles from Pitts.and their only Dollar General store is closed and for sale, along with a lot of other empty store fronts in town.

Chris is the least of their problems.
