1.) National Sales Tax
A 10 to 20 percent value added tax would not only fund health
insurance for poor working Americans, it could also help reduce
the national debt. The concept is supported by many leading
economists, and is used in over a hundred other nations...
2.) One dollar a gallon gas tax
An idea endorsed by the conservative commentator,
George Will, this plan would produce more than twice the amount
of money needed for universal health insurance....
3.) A National Union of Minimum Wage Earners
Okay, this is my own idea, and it hasn't gained any traction in the
last fifteen years, but I still believe it would work....
4.) Legalize, then tax marijuana, cocaine and steroids
A revenue source that is undoubtedly huge and no more morally
ambiguous than a state run lottery....
5.) Tax on Tea
Yeah, now I'm just kidding...Thought I'd lob a soft one to the
'baggers...'
6.) Return the tax code to what it was in 1950
The good old days, when men were out saving the universe and
the income tax on the wealthiest was at 91 percent...
That's all I got....No better ideas unless you share yours...

YES!!!
I don't do drugs, but I especially support #4 (Legalize, then tax marijuana, cocaine and steroids). Just legalizing marijuana and taxing it would bring in great revenues and it's not any worse than cigarettes and alcohol!!!

Before the 1980's if you had a halfway decent job, healthcare was covered by your employer....Now less than 60% offer any health benefits and even less full health benefits...
