Alright, so... I guess it's time to spin this into something that's bad for America... just like it was "good" that Chicago didn't get the olympics...

My wife said the same thing. I looked at the other options and they were...thin. But I was under the impression that the Nobel committee can choose simply to not award anyone if they want.
I don't know, maybe this decision makes more sense in the international community. They really do like him around the world, at least a whole lot more than they did Bush. But there's no way this is a good thing for him here in the states right now. Beck is probably salivating right now.

Yes, they're wacko. They must want something.
The Nobel Prize is an infamous award. It has recognized many great achievements through out its existence. I'm not exactly sure what Obama had accomplished, but, like someone else pointed out, it says something about they way the rest of the world percieves the US w/ him in office.
What I would say to the right is that its not news that Europeans are liberal. Weight this award however you'd like... similar to a thread last week discussing the BET awards.

IMO any criticism of this decision needs to be directed at the Nobel committee, not at Obama.

Hey!!! Don't be talking about Scandinavians or I'm gonna send my big, bald Norwegian hubby after you!!! hehe
I agree that the committee jumped the gun awarding Obama the price so early on...But Scandinavians are very liberal and they do love Obama!!! If the list of nominees was not that great this year, I guess he was as good a pick as anyone...I hope that winning this prize inspires Obama to do the right thing and he lives up to it and earns the prize even if it's after the fact.
