Phony, teaching a child basic morality and teaching them about religion are not necessarily the same thing. In fact, sometimes they are mutually exclusive.

Brant, I think that any religion gives us a solid ground in morality, to begin any child a base with which to start.
How else would you teach morals to your child?

Do unto others is a good base to start with...
I literally cannot remember ever believing in God... My morality comes not from fear of hell or anticipation of heaven... but from just being a good person

E, you may be a "good" person, but explain why a gang would beat a kid to death with a two-by-four?
