Let's be fair here, the only ones saying it should be fixed fast ARE the Republicans. Democrats have so far continued to live in the world of reality, where sweeping policy changes are not made overnight. The rest of what you said, though obviously meant to be sarcastic, was pretty accurate. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! amph-did My party leave the health care mess? The one that has been going to be fixed since 1964?
If you switch every democrat to repuiblican and vice versa in your post you would be a lot more accurate.
Does anyone remember GWB ever saying that Clinton left him a mess? _________________

No, because Clinton left him a budget surplus that he stupidly squandered and ultimately ruined our entire economy. Nice work, W. _________________

no-but how many times do we have to hear about his phony surplus? You would think in eight years you could come up with something more substantial than what amounted to some creative writing on a budget spread sheet.
Hell if I leave bills unpaid I could have a hell of a budget surplus in my own life. _________________

God we are good SSSS, we have managed to install our Republican fears into the minds of intelligent Democrats! We should be proud, we have taken our corruption and lying and mind control abilities and polluted the minds of Dems to change the votes on health care! The sure thing was their weakness, believing that O could sell it, because of our magnificent abilities, the American public has become stupid, mind numbed robots. I never knew I had that much power! Now I have to turn by evil wickedness to the kids in school and brainwash the six year old not to run in the hall! |

Hell if I leave bills unpaid I could have a hell of a budget surplus in my own life. | Ah, once again, the claim of the surplus being "phony", which you couldn't defend the last time you made the allegation except to admit that it was your opinion, rather than a fact. You're starting to sound like the broken record Phony plays over & over. If you rig the accounting to a method the government traditionally hasn't used to portray Clinton's surplus as a deficit, it just makes the increasing deficit under GWB exponentially bigger. Perhaps you'd prefer to change the accounting method only when evaluating Democratic Administrations.
And regarding the health care coverage crisis? The Repubs were in control of both the legislative & executive branches for most of the decade in which premiums skyrocketed along with health insurance & pharmacy company profits while claim denials increased and the shameful practice of recission took hold. i've never claimed that the Repubs created the health care crisis, but they sure did nothing to address it when they were in control. Instead their 'leadership' over those years make it easy to argue that they chose to exacerbate it. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Using the accepted accounting methods, it was a surplus. If you Owe 200 grand on your house and your mortgage is 12000 a year and that's your only expense, you have a surplus as soon as you make more than 12 grand. You still have your long term obligation, but your expense within that year was covered AND you had money left over.
It's like when they say that Medicare has 35 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities... Yeah, over the course of 75 years! That's like saying that my company is bankrupt because they have unfunded salary liabilities of tens of millions of dollars over the next 30 years but they only made 5 million this year... When you start an accounting system, you agree on certain terms and ways of accounting for revenue and expenses... If you have a surplus under those agreed upon rules, you have a surplus. You can't change the rulesidway through to manufacture good news, and you can't do it to manufacture bad news. We had an intra year budget surplus at the end of clinton's term. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

First, you've installed your fears in the minds of independents, not democrats.
Second, they were stupid before you got there.
Third, taking a partisan chit on everything this country stands for is nothing to brag about. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Shitting on this country is nothing new for some, and exactly what does America stand, that I am shitting on? Questioning? |

"Buying the Dem talking points" - another accusation bereft of anything other than knee-jerk reactivity. Obviously, recognizing an informed opinion, let alone forming one, isn't a strong suit for many on the right these days. _________________ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Not you personally, but conservatives in general. Blocking Presidential appointments for no other reason than to block them. Spreading lies about important legislation. Showing a complete lack of respect for the office of the President of the United States. Everything the GOP has done since last January has been partisan. The party has done a single constructive thing in the last 8 months. Ever action they take is deliberately designed to damage our nation so they can blame it on the Democrats later. Their loyalties don't lie with conservative values or with their Republican voters, but with power and money and that's it. I call that taking a chit on America. _________________ The end is nigh!
