dick-I have no issue with it, other than I think too many of them over the years have been political patronage jobs.

Amom any walls that are up have been built by the Dems. We have no control so unfortunately thats not something that we can take blame or credit for.

The GOP has no legislative or executive control. That doesn't mean they can't spew hatred over the airwaves or stonewall legislation via backdoor tactics in the Senate. With the death of Kennedy and the stubbornness of the blue dogs, the GOP has a modicum of power and they are using it for nefarious means. The goal is to pretend that they have no power so they can blame the Dems for all the nations' shortcomings come election time so they can claim total innocence. They aren't doing a good job though.

You don't have control? So, the fact that we don't yet have a health care bill... that has nothing at all to do with the republicans in the house or senate?

That has nothing to do with the information (misinformation) coming out of the right wing? How many democrats were suggesting that Obama wanted to kill old people? How many democrats say "socialism" and act as if ominous music is supposed to play? How many democrats are lockstep against any bill that comes out?

How many bills have been drafted by the republicans? What exactly are the solutions being put forth by republicans?
Buy insurance over state lines? What is the estimated impact on premium prices by doing that?
Malpractice reform? Again, how much will that save the average american in costs?

E it should have been a walk off home run. It has not passed because the Dems have failed to sell it to the American people.

Or don't get sick in the first place.

And I'm sure this is the line Fox News and the GOP will try to cram down our throat during election season, all the while snickering in the corner and counting their health care lobbyist bribes.

They failed to "sell it" because the right came out and said that it was something that it wasn't...

Imagine if I was trying to sell penicillin for the first time saying that it was an antibiotic that would cure a whole myriad of bacterial infections...

And someone else came out and said that it was really a plot to infect people with AIDS...

If people didn't buy my penicillin, is that my fault?

It must be truly wonderful to be a liberal democrat. I am thinking of switching.
I mean, if it goes right, "see, we should have been in power all along-we do it right!'
If it cannot be fixed, or fixed as fast as we like, it is all the fault of George Bush and the damn republicans!
If we cannot pass something with our majority, it cannot be our fault-it is those damn republicans!
If we cannot deliver the change we promised, it is because the Bush repubs have it to badly messed up!

Hell democrats never even lose elections-it it always the courts fault, or voters were disinfranchised, or some other lame excuse. They never just lose.

If I am a democrat and I question a bill before the house I am wise and being astute. If I question it as a republican, I am being disruptive and spreading false information.

It must be truly wonderful.

4S's, sounds as if these darn Dems like instantanious gratification or for things to stop popping up that hinder their progress. We do have a country to repair though.
You know, it was called the USA until some knuckleheads named Bush and Cheney assumed ownership a few years back.

Turned out they were just two huge slum landlords who allowed everything of any value to be stripped from the country by their ignorant, greedy buddies which left the tenents trying to eke out some means of surviving in the squalor they left behind.

But it may be more then of a job that any one can repair considering the the state of dis-repair it was left in.

It must be a marvelous thing to be a conservative Republican politician. It certainly looks to be easier.

You can easily forswear any culpability for the effects of your party’s disastrous policies and instead just repeatedly blame the Democrats for your own failures.

If it looks like the majority party might make some headway in cleaning up the mess your party left, all you have to do is start cyncically fanning the flames of your constituents' ignorant prejudices. Proven winners are guns, gays and abortion. Besides, Rush, Beck, Savage and those other talking heads have already primed the pumps.

When the Democrats are on the verge of passing legislation that would actually benefit Americans, you can just sit back and cynically claim that they can’t do it without you, even when you know that’s not true. You never even have to expend any effort to actually address the needs of most Americans; just keep the richest 5% of Americans happy.

You don’t really even need to concentrate on winning the support of a majority of Americans in elections – the RNC’s decades of experience in voter caging and suppression shrinks the voting pool and practically assures that you'll win. Don’t worry about all those court findings against the RNC; they always get away with it, and you can always obscure the judiciary by yammering about 'judicial activism.'

If I’m a Republican I can knowingly spread false information about any piece of legislation and then claim I’m being victimized if anyone publicly calls me on it. If I’m a Democrat and cite actual facts I’ll have to spend time that could otherwise benefit my constituents on defending against cynical smear campaigns. That requires so much more energy.

It so much easier (and more fun!) to be a Republican - just pour yourself a scotch, call in a hooker, and lie about Democrats.
