1. YES! This would be HUGE for my company (26 employees, 5 million in revenue)! Not only would they save almost 12 grand per employee, but I could reasonably ask for a 6000 dollar raise "just because"
2. Hello?! If you can't afford a private plan, and you don't want the public plan, you should either get a part time job or cut back on some luxuries. Nobody is putting a gun to your head and saying take the public option... As george would say, work harder, longer, or cut back to pay for it.
3. If private plans actually ARE unaffordable, that kinda makes the case for a public plan!
What am I missing here? |
If there is ever to be a health plan for all, , and common sense should tell us all then it will be
a government plan, E, or none at all, as I said, those who can not afford it, we pay for in reduced treatments or higher cost, now you got it? Any thing else is but wishful thinking and that is the bottom line. |
I didn't really understand what you were trying to say there... |
I get all the stuff you have up here e, but the plan you have above and really the whole plan is based on employment, either your own or working for some one.
How many millions does that exclude today who are not working or working but barely getting by? How are they going to buy into the program if they can't even feed themselves?
Even those of you working, how much can you afford to pay for the insurance every month? |

People who are unemployed would probably be subsidized or their coverage would be part of their unemployment benefits... I haven't heard how that is determined one way or the other... As far as affordability, I am sure that they will have income tables with a corresponding price... I suppose we can determine what the affordability is once they say how much the premiums cost for a person... _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! I was joking. One of the Senators tried to say schizophrenia and it sounded funny. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

This insurance lobby written Bacus plan (media words, not mine) was $13,000 a year in August, any newer figures since? |

Every bill they have discussed so far is weak. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

It was an unrelated comment. We were making fun of Crapo and then Kerry made a good argument for the public option and e gave him accolades. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

That part(cost) is the one part that always gets mumbled or stuttered or omitted or "to be worked out" when the talking takes place. |

Some of the better bills are the ones that clearly lay out how cost will be addressed. HR 676 for example. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

13,000 is the average policy premium, currently... and I believe that the average policy covers something like 2.1 people (could be wrong)... _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |
