When one without a public option comes along, that might be it. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

I mean, of the current public option amendments that are being proposed, is Snowe expected to vote yay on any of the PO Amendments? _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

Jon Kyl's arguments against the public option sound, to me, like arguments FOR it... not a whole lot of what he said is negative, IMO _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

That seems to be the running theme with arguments against the public option. They just make me want it more. _________________ The end is nigh! OR forums die APRIL 1. Don't lose contact! Join the forums at bogsource.com now! |

He was saying that people would be "forced" into the private option because companies would rather pay the 400 dollar fee and save 12 grand on premiums for employees... and those employees wouldn't be able to afford the premiums of a private plan, so they would opt for the public option.
1. YES! This would be HUGE for my company (26 employees, 5 million in revenue)! Not only would they save almost 12 grand per employee, but I could reasonably ask for a 6000 dollar raise "just because"
2. Hello?! If you can't afford a private plan, and you don't want the public plan, you should either get a part time job or cut back on some luxuries. Nobody is putting a gun to your head and saying take the public option... As george would say, work harder, longer, or cut back to pay for it.
3. If private plans actually ARE unaffordable, that kinda makes the case for a public plan!

If there is ever to be a health plan for all, , and common sense should tell us all then it will be
a government plan, E, or none at all, as I said, those who can not afford it, we pay for in reduced treatments or higher cost, now you got it? Any thing else is but wishful thinking and that is the bottom line. |
