There is some really lousy chocolate, I never thought so until a kid gave me a 5lb. box of Zachary Chocolate, I think they sell it in Walmart,. My motto is everything better with chocolate on it. You know like no sex is bad sex, boy was I wrong about the candy. We tries 2 pieces of it spit them both out and trashed the rest.

Those are my only two choices? Sarris, i guess.

Though Joseph Schmidt chocolates put them both to shame.

The absolute best chocolate i've have lately is from Cost Plus World Market. It's the 62% cacao bar with sea salt. Sounds weird, but tastes AMAZING!!!!

I like those high percentage cacao ones. There are a couple good brands but I can't think of them at the moment. Anything approaching 90% is the bomb.

I would have to go with hershey if I had a gun to my head... but I am a high % dark chocolate person, too...

I like black and green brand that they have at giant eagle, though it may be owned by a bigger candy co like nestle or hershey

Given those two choices, I would go with Sarris. But the BEST chocalate is Paradise in Washington.

i'm not sure they're available in the East - Schmidt's is a San Francisco chocolatier whose truffles some specialty stores around here used to carry.

Whoops. i just checked online - they've apparently stopped their retail business. Probably only provide chocolates to select boutique hotels now. This is all i could find online: http://www.artisanconfection.com/stores/josephschmidt/

how much do they charge at Pardise for a pound of Choc covered peanuts SSSS?

Sarris is way over rated and way too sweet. Hershey's pizzed me off going to Mexico and dumping 300 Pa. workers, they can rot in hell before I risk eating anything from China or Mexico, Like playing Russian Roulette with 5 live bullets in a six shooter.

My cousin is from Republic. He worked for Hershey and is credited for inventing chocolate that doesn't melt in the early 90's. They specifically made it for the troops in Desert Storm. Just thought I'd share.....

My answer is Sarris'. I'm not a big chocolate fan, but I melt for ice cream.
