Hello to all.Hope you all are doing well.I am doing better-in terms of attitude and outlook. We will attend a Wildthings game tonight-free tickets, and there aint nothin else to do so....oh well.Weve been busy tending the trees and yard.On Friday, I will get on a plane and head to Arizona where our oldest son will pick me up and we will begin our journey home.It will be my 3rd trip across the nation.I hate flying.Xanax will help. Its a 33 hour drive. The money is tight-we do have enough for hotel stays for 4 days if needed. Our son is an insulin dependant diabetic and me with medications -it wouldnt be wise to drive straight through but Im gonna do my best.I dont believe I can sleep while he drives-so that makes it tricky.Any well wishes would be more than a little appreciated.Anyone need anything from AZ or the states we will travel through?I would enjoy hearing about how everyone is doing-if you would be so kind.God Bless, Spike Cool

Good luck on the cross-country trip. i've done it myself in the past - it's an awfully beautiful country we've got here!

Drive safe...

Flag is definitely a nice cool break on that drive, but it's been in the upper 90s and humid (for us, that is) in Albuquerque for the past couple of weeks. Expect to pass through thunderstorms here if you travel through in the late afternoon/evening.

Spike I did it back in the mid 50's from Amarillo, Texas to Washington and back several times . Old RT.40 to Us 66 and the only "turnpike or 4 lane" for any distance was the Turner Turnpike from Tulsa to Oklahoma City.

33 hours non-stop and alone. You will have company and almost all interstate, so you can do it in a breeze. Take a cooler and some ice, some drinks, and a few snacks. Time your rest stop distances and talk alot. Do get some sleep though while your son drives, you will need it. Have a nice trip.
